So in Athens at this time, laws are not carefully written down and they're not really publicized very well ● ideally the function of a law is to get people to regulate, regulate their own behavior. ● that's rational in the sense that, you know, that way you can shape human behavior. ● that's a big problem if people don't know what's legal and what's illegal. The legislative system is very loose and changeable. ○ So again, it's unpredictable, it's unstable, and therefore it's irrational because people cannot shape their behavior accordingly ○ .
