NAME: COURSE: Physics Directions: Write a lab report for each virtual lab. Be sure that your report: ▪ includes all major elements of a lab report (hypothesis, procedure, results & conclusion). ▪ meets your teacher’s content and format expectations. ▪ is clearly organized and formatted. ▪ demonstrates strong scientific reasoning and writing. While writing, you can revisit previous parts of the lesson by returning to the course map. Be sure to refer to the lab’s student guide , which you can find on the first page of the lab experiment activity. It is so important that you open up the student guide PDF so you know exactly what the lab will cover and you can easily follow along with the virtual lab. The key information you provide in this lab report should simply reflect the fact you attempted to follow along with the virtual lab. Consequently, you are expected to have a title, hypothesis, a summary of the procedure as well as some sort of data/results, and a conclusion. Please complete each of the following boxes for the virtual labs and submit the document as a word document: I. Title of the Lab : Electromagnetic Induction II. Hypothesis (one is often given in the student guide) : If the polarity of a moving magnet is reversed, then the current induced in a loop of wire will reverse in direction, because magnet polarity determines the direction of the electromagnetic force. III. Procedure A. Present the most important steps of the lab as a numbered list B. Identify your experimental and control groups - what is being measured in the lab? Lab Report Guide

Most Important steps in the lab (you should do more than two): 1. Step one - Open the simulation. 2. Step two - Identify induced current when the magnet is in motion (magnetic polarity normal). 3. Step three - Identify induced current when the wire loop is rotated 180° and the magnet is in motion (magnetic polarity reversed). Is there a control and experimental group? Explain - be specific. I believe this was an experimental group due to the given variables and explanation about the polarity of the magnets. IV. Data/Results A. Did you organize all data in a clearly labeled table and/or graph? B. Describe specific data points that help explain the outcome of the experiment. Please share any data here - you might need to copy and paste a table from the student guide into this document. Do your best to format correctly and you should be able to insert a table into the document as well if necessary. You don’t need all the data, just the most important pieces of information. Comparison of the Data between Normal and Reversed Magnet Polarity The maximum current and direction of normal magnet polarity was the opposite of the reversed magnet polarity V. Conclusion - The conclusion of your lab report should explain the understandings you’ve gained as a result of the lab experiment. A. Did you determine whether your data supported or refuted the hypothesis? What was the final analysis from the lab? Conclusion- The hypothesis claims “If the polarity of a moving magnet is reversed, then the current induced in a loop of wire will reverse in direction because magnet polarity determines the direction of the electromagnetic force.” which was proven right due to the results of the lab when you reserve the magnet the polarity switches which also switched the directions of the electromagnetic force.
