Report for Lab 6-Magnetic Force Note: you should download this word file and put the required information or your answers in this file, then convert it into a PDF file for submission. Please note: You can insert your results or answers in this word form, but you should not alter the original content in this lab report form. Please read this form carefully before you start your experiment, so you can make sure to collect all the information needed for this lab report from your experiments. Check your PDF file before it is submitted! Make sure it is in your desired format. Your experiment report. (Total 80 points) 1. Take a picture of one of your experiment configurations for the rotating motor. Then draw a diagram of it. In the diagram, mark the directions of the current, the magnetic field, and the rotation. Explain why the motor rotates in the direction as shown in your diagram. Insert the above-required information in table 1 below (40 points). Table 1 As the fingers point to the direction of the magnetic field in the right hand rule we can assume that in this configuration the field goes upward, curect goes from right to left and the force excerted goes outside of the page
2. Take a picture of one of your experiment configurations for the force exerted on a current-carrying wire. Then draw a diagram of it. In the diagram, mark the directions of the current, the magnetic field, and the magnetic force. Explain why the magnetic force on the current-carrying wire is in the direction as shown in your diagram. Insert the above-required information in table 2 below (35 points). Table 2 Current goes from + to -, if we do the right hadn rule then the thumb would point east and the force would go upwards as shown 3. Show a picture of you with a DC rotating motor you built. Insert the picture in table 3 below (5 points). Table 3
