Briefly explain, in your own words, why references are important for an academic paper. Cite any sources you use for your answer.
References are very important for an academic paper because it allows you to avoid plagiarism while allowing you to maintain academic integrity and allows us to give credit to an author or several authors whose ideas or work you may be using. This can also include referencing your own work from previous assignments. By not referencing your sources could
cause one to obtain a failing grade or if found plagiarizing more than once could lead to suspension from CCU. Two Bible verses that I feel tie into this question are:
“You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another.” Leviticus 19:11
(ESV).
“
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked
will be found out.” Proverbs 10:9 (ESV).
