Marijuana In a world where prescriptions are shifting and societal attitudes are evolving, the
discourse surrounding marijuana has ignited a fervent debate. Imagine a substance with the
potential to alleviate pain, ease symptoms of debilitating conditions and possibly revolutionize
medical treatments. This isn’t utopia fantasy; it is the tantalizing promise that marijuana holds.
As we navigate the complex landscape of legalizing and regulation, it becomes imperative to
consider not just the controversies but also the compelling case for embracing marijuana’s
benefits. Beyond the haze of stereotypes, an exploration of its medical potential may be
uncovering a gateway to enhanced well-being and medical breakthrough. Marijuana, derived
from the Cannabis plant, is a psychoactive substance containing THC and CBD that interacts
with the body’s endocannabinoid system, affect mood and psychology. Used both recreationally
and medically, its legal status varies globally (Nida, 2023). What exactly is marijuana? It is a
greenish-gray mixture of a leafy substance, dried flowers of
Cannabis sativa (
Nida, 2023). Also,
known as weed, pot, Mary Jane, and other names. The medical use of marijuana provides a
viable alternative for managing a range of medical conditions, offering potential relief, and
broadening therapeutic options, through various consumption methods. The exploration of
marijuana medical potential reveals its efficacy in alleviating various conditions, prompting a
nuanced examination of its benefits compared to alternative treatments, while addressing
considerations surrounding responsible consumption.
Medical Uses
The therapeutic application of medical marijuana has expanded significantly in recent years, demonstrating its potential efficacy in alleviating symptoms associated with various 2
medical conditions. From chronic pain management to aiding in the mitigation of symptoms related to conditions like epilepsy and multiple sclerosis, medical marijuana offers a versatile and
promising avenue for enhancing the quality of life for the patients facing diverse health challenges. As research progresses, an in-depth exploration of specific medical marijuana uses unveils a landscape of possibilities that contribute to more comprehensive healthcare strategies. A study was conducted on 10 ASD children where THC was the drug administered. Eight out of ten improved on being able to successfully refrain from self- injuring behaviors (Schleider, 2019). Those who consume THC showed signs of improving with irritability, hyperactivity, and lethargy. THC has also been shown to improve anxiety, tantrums, and panic attacks just to name a few (Schleider, 2019). As we navigate the landscape of medical marijuana, it is essential to smoothly transition into its therapeutic ream, illuminating its capacity to provide relief and enhance the overall well-being of individuals grappling with diverse health conditions. Other Treatment Options
Medical marijuana should be embraced as a legitimate and effective treatment option, as it has shown remarkable potential in alleviating symptoms, managing pains, and improving the overall quality of life for patients suffering from carious medical conditions. While chemotherapy and radiation are available to help pediatric and adolescent patients, they experience harsh side effects such as loss of appetite, nausea and pains, marijuana can improve the life of patients. Research shows that marijuana is a positive benefit for patients because it increases appetite, decreases nausea as well as pain. Most importantly it is a cell growth blocker, prevents growth in blood cells and prevents inflammation (Bergstrom, 2018). Shifting from discussing various medical marijuana strains, let’s explore different methods of consumption for enhanced therapeutic benefits.

Ways to be Used
Marijuana can be used in various ways, depending on individuals’ preferences and desired effects. Common methods of consumption include smoking the dried flower, vaporizing the plant material, or ingesting it in different forms such as edibles (Seaman et al. 2019). The diverse consumption methods of medical marijuana, ranging from smoking to edibles, offer patients the flexibility to find the most effective comfortable way to incorporate this natural remedy into their treatment regimen, enhancing its therapeutic benefits and improving they’re over all well-being. Vaping offers a healthier alternative to smoking, as it eliminates the harmful toxins that are produced through combustion. Vapes allow for precise dosage control, allowing users to customize their experience and achieve the desired effects. Most Americans support legalizing recreational marijuana and think it’s safer than other drugs (Kerr, et al. 2017). Cigars filled with marijuana provide a unique and enjoyable way to indulge in the substance, offering a slow- burning and flavorful experience. By embracing these different methods of consumption, individuals can have the opportunity to explore and find the most suitable, enjoyable, and safe way to incorporate marijuana into their lifestyle. Through research and responsible integration into medical treatments are imperative, given the potential medical benefits of marijuana. This includes efficacy in managing pain, alleviating symptoms of various medical conditions and contributing to overall well-being.
In conclusion, the discourse surrounding medical marijuana underscores its potential as a valuable therapeutic option. The myriad studies and anecdotal evidence support efficacy in anecdotal symptoms and improving the quality of life for its patients facing various medical conditions. While acknowledging the need for continued research and careful regulations, 4
supporting and embracing the medical benefits of marijuana can pave the way for compassionate
and effective healthcare practices. Striking a balance between medical accessibility and responsible use holds the key to unlocking the full potential of medical marijuana in enhancing the well-being of individuals in need. 5
