W02 Insight Sharing: Share it! – Essay
Jesus Christ was not only our Savior and Redeemer, but he was the perfect exemplar for
all of God’s children. In the scriptures, there are many examples that Christ showed us. In my
life, I have seen some other wonderful examples for me to be a better person. There are many
things that I can read about that I can change now to better follow the example of Christ.
There are so many examples of Jesus Christ being an example for us. In this week’s
discussion board, I wrote about how Christ is the perfect example, and then I posed the question,
“What are some other examples of Christ being an example?”. I was so happy to get responses
that helped me remember some of the many things Christ did. The one thing that was in the
reading was Christ being baptized too, “…fulfill all righteousness.” Just think about it, the most
perfect man ever was baptized by immersion and by someone with God's power (priesthood),
why would we not have to be baptized in the same way? I love that we have Christ to be our
example for everything. How to minister, treat other people, return to our Heavenly Father, etc.
We need to be acting for ourselves, so God gave us agency. We can use that agency to follow
Christ, or we can choose not to and live a life that is not in order. Every day we can read about
the life of Christ and read of His examples. My favorite is how he treated the children. Children
are so special and need to be cared for, as Jesus did. These are just a few of many examples.
In my life, I have decided to focus on a Christlike attribute each month to better follow
our Savior. I am far from perfect but being able to read his examples in all the scriptures has
really changed my heart. I love the Savior and I know that He is the only way that we can return
to our Heavenly Father.
