2 Nursing Nursing students who have already been accepted into a nursing program should be given a second chance to re-enter the nursing program. The main reason for this is that this gives them a better chance of graduating and getting their license, as well as having a better chance of finding employment after graduation (Marian University, 2021). Students who have dropped out are often at a higher risk than others of having trouble finding employment after graduation. This is because they may not have had any experience in the workforce, which can make it difficult for them to find jobs that match their skills and talents (Marian University, 2021). For example, if someone has spent their entire life learning how to play guitar but never learned how to read music well enough to play an instrument on their own, they may struggle when it comes time for them to apply for jobs as musicians or instructors at music schools. The education system often seems like an insurmountable obstacle for those who have dropped out of high school or college because there are so many options available. However, this does not mean that these students should be written off completely from being part of society; rather, there needs to be more opportunities made available for these students so that they can learn new skills and improve themselves in order for them to find employment in which they can use their education successfully. Additionally, educational institutions like nursing schools are not just about teaching students how to become nurses. They are also about educating them on how to succeed in the professional world of nursing and beyond (Logacho, 2015). This is why it is important for students who have failed the nursing program to be given a second chance to re-enter. The first time around, the student may have had issues with focus and motivation, or perhaps they were dealing with depression or other mental health concerns that hindered their performance. By
3 giving an opportunity for these students to retake the course, they will be able to demonstrate their commitment and dedication towards becoming a nurse in the future through their success in this one course (Logacho, 2015).
