Introduction An advanced practice nurse is an exceptional nurse who has post-graduate education and training in nursing. The nurses under this category may perform specific or general roles within healthcare facilities. These special nurses are always equipped with skills, clinical education, the scope of practice and knowledge in nursing and advanced didactic. The APNs are expected to demonstrate effective integration of theory and experiences with increased anatomy degrees in judgment and intervention ( Gysin et al., 2019). The APNs are also tasked with the responsibilities of performing duties that were once reserved for the physicians. Additionally, they collaborate with other professionals within healthcare in the management of patient care and improving the health outcomes of the involved population ( Gysin et al., 2019). Distinguish between Advanced Nursing Practice (ANP) and the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) The advanced nursing practice (ANP) refers to a critical level of nursing practice that fully utilizes the depth of nursing skills and knowledge to meet the health need of the patients within the community. However, the education preparation, scope of practice, role definition and legal requirements of the ANPs may vary from country to country (Hu & Forgeron, 2018). On the other hand, the APNs are nurses with special training who can serve as clinical educators, administrators, informatics, and clinical researchers. In all various duties they play in the health sector, the APNs can influence the patient's outcome directly or indirectly depending on the role they have been tasked with at a particular time ( Gysin et al., 2019). Briefly define advance nursing practice and the roles in advanced practice nursing pertaining to clinical practice, primary care, education, administration, and health information.
Advanced nursing practice must be founded on the research and theory that guide the clinical practice. While working with physicians, the ANPs must always be prepared to diagnose and treat patients, especially those with acute illness and chronic conditions, and prescribe appropriate medication. Additionally, they are always ready to assume accountability and responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, promoting and managing patients’ health conditions ( Josi et al., 2020). Such practices ensure they consider the patients' primary care within healthcare facilities. Equipping the patients with proper patient education is another approach that helps improve patient outcomes. By providing appropriate administrative roles and providing necessary health information to the patients and other healthcare practitioners, the ANPs ensure that there is a proper flow of healthcare practices within the facilities (Hu, J., and Forgeron, 2018). Describe the advanced nursing practice role you aspire to and briefly share the experiences and/or qualities you have that have influenced your decision. (I ASPIRE Family nurse practitioner) Interests in pursuing advanced nursing practice come with the unlimited opportunities available. Especially, a Family nurse practitioner comes with options such as private practices, working in physician's offices, community clinics, hospitals, occupational settings, and government facilities. I grew up in a society where primary care was a luxury in my early days. Most members of the community could not access primary healthcare services due to high costs. Training passionately in this field will provide an opportunity to start a private facility where I will be able to offer affordable services to the members of my community. My clinical knowledge will serve the community and inspire the youths in society to specialize in clinical practice to save the community and provide services. Additionally, serving as a family nurse

practitioner, will create an opportunity to provide services to my extended family and other families facing healthcare challenges. Describe your personal nursing philosophy and the model that helped you describe it. My nursing philosophy is to provide personalized care to every patient I get engaged with within the health facility instead of treating illness and injury they have been diagnosed with. I want to make my clients feel comfortable, respected and confident in my professional services. Additionally, my responsibility will be to educate my patients and their families to promote their wellness practices within the society and advocate for better healthcare services for all individuals. My philosophy has been founded on Jean Watson's Transpersonal Caring theory, which is based on how the nurses express their care to patients. This theory is unique because it stresses the humanistic approach of nursing practice in conjunction with scientific knowledge and nursing practice ( Watson et al., 2018). Examine regulatory and legal requirements for the state in which you plan to practice/work. (Florida) I plan and aspire to practice in Florida, where a Florida Agency regulates the nursing practice for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) and the Florida Board of Nursing. Licensure requirements in Florida include various aspects that nurses need to consider. Firstly, the education requirement consists of a two-year associate degree in nursing or a four-year bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, education pathways, including the military nursing programs, are also acceptable within the state. Secondly, the nurse must sit for an exam or be
endorsed. For a nurse to be endorsed, he must possess a nursing license from another state. The application process may take 5-30 days to complete ( L'Ecuyer et al., 2018). The processes involved in licensing are critical in ensuring that the patients within the state obtain quality care from the nursing professionals. The state renews the license after every two years to ensure the competency and professionalism of practicing nurses ( L'Ecuyer et al., 2018). Identify the required competencies (domains) and certification requirements for your selected role. The Florida Board of nursing is tasked with regulating the nursing practice sector by ensuring that the nurses offering the services are qualified in different ways. The body license, disciplines, monitors, educates and rehabilitates nurses to provide standards measures such as safety quality care are delivered to all the patients across the healthcare settings. The nursing practice act in Florida ensures a quality framework of providing safe and professional nursing care, which helps protect individuals looking for such care. The licensure procedure, which includes academic qualifications and examinations, ensures that the hired nurses are capable of delivering professional care ( Toney-Butler et al., 2022. Describe what is required to obtain certification in your selected role Two primary forms of nursing licensure in Florida includes education and endorsement. The nurses must have completed an accredited nursing education program in a state-approved institution. Secondly, individuals who have been previously registered as nurses in other states may apply for licensure through endorsement, subject to board approval. Additionally, the nurses may also be required to sit for a particular examination to meet all the essential criteria to be fully accredited ( L'Ecuyer et al., 2018).
Define Transformational Leadership as it relates to your identified leadership attributes that you possess or need to develop Transformational leadership is a strategy that results to change in individuals and the entire system. The procedure helps in changing and transforming individuals with a view of helping the organization attain its long-term or short-term goals. The ability to get people to want to change, improve, and be led are the basic foundations of a transformational leader. ( Eliyana and Ma’arif, 2019). Possessing these attributes and effective communication skills will definitely help a leader attain ultimate organizational goals. Apply the leadership style you will embrace as an APN in primary care. As a nursing practitioner, I would employ a transformational leadership style that would play a critical role in my fellow practitioners. This style will help me motivate my fellow workers to take ownership of their roles, perform beyond their expectations, and help deliver quality patient care to our clients. As a transformational leader, I will have an opportunity to train my fellow workers to approach issues other than waiting to be instructed. In nursing, transformational leadership motivates and inspires nurses to find better ways of attaining goals and avoiding conflicts. Creating such an environment would help ensure that the patients benefit from the conducive environment created ( Collins et al., 2019). Describe the current policy or trends related to your APN role in primary care and determine if policy or trend needs to change--if opposed to change, state the reason. A family nurse practitioner is a critical area of the healthcare. A family nurse practitioner is tasked with providing necessary care services and guidance to the patients in need. They also help manage patients’ caseloads in hospitals and medical centers. Licensure and regulation have

been one of the basic procedures to endure professional services are being delivered. This policy has generally facilitated streamlining of the health sector. Workforce issues have been a challenge in the field. Employing measures to supply enough personnel to cater to the arising needs would help solve most of the difficulties experienced by family nurse practitioners ( Xue et al., 2019). If you determine that the above policies or trends require change, propose how APN can lead changes Nurses' influence on policies ensures that the quality of care is protected through access to the required resources and opportunities. With healthcare systems rapidly evolving and changing, nurses should move forward along with the changes. Besides just implementing the changes, nurses need to be part of the formulating process. Being active in developing the policies will be an outstanding achievement to take part in controlling their practices. Therefore, the nursing regulatory bodies and training institutions need to equip nurses with policy development skills to address professional challenges ( Chiu et al., 2020). Conclusion In summary, the APNs are a critical part of the healthcare systems. The training and education system has played an essential role in equipping them with advanced skills to ensure quality care delivery has been achieved. Governments worldwide need to facilitate the APNs in their service delivery tasks by ensuring that all the required resources are readily available. Additionally, the law and policymakers need to involve the opinion of the nurses while developing measures and guidelines to govern the sector. Such a step would ensure efficient service delivery and quality care to patients worldwide.
