Wk 1 Discussion: Research in Health Care
Research question: Based on the current services being provided to patients in our clinic, are there high
satisfaction rates from our patients?
I think the way a hypothesis can be developed is by creating a statement that can be further evaluated.
Every hypothesis has its own variables that contribute to how the statement can be proven to be correct
or incorrect, and if so, what can be done for improvement in the future. Predictions can be made in
order to show how well the quality of services can be evaluated with evidence to prove so. This is where
research comes into play because certain things like patient surveys, feedback, and how much we are
actually able to listen to patients are ways to can begin to see where possible change can be made.
Research is so important to making decisions, especially in the health care field, because it gives us a
better understanding on why certain decisions need to be made. There is always room for improvement
as the health care industry is one that is constantly adapting. When changing any kind of research
question, the hypothesis immediately changes and sometimes, more research has to be conducted to
support the argument that is being made.
