Introduction to Pastoral Counseling
October 25, 2019 What is Pastoral Counseling? What is Pastoral Counseling? A part of Counseling in which psychologically qualified Pastors and others that render therapy service. Pastoral Counseling have a unique position. They can address issues such as: mental health, helping people deal with the loss of a loved one, giving support and just being there for someone in their time of need. The counseling can range from short to long term, it depends on the need/issue of the individual/families. Pastoral Counselors must be trained in the area of both traditional, religious and should have a Master or Doctoral degree in order to render services. Often, it can be a challenged! According to the article: some forms of Pastoral Counseling are short-term and problem-focused, whereas others address long-standing conflicts and require a long-term relationship with their therapist. It is believed to be true! As a Pastoral Counselor, they have goals that will help lead the individual towards a greater integrity within oneself and helping them to cope with other relationship. The Pastoral Counselor will be able to guide the individual in helping them to: (a) widening their minds, (b) bracing their body, (c) reassert relation, (d) increase relationships with the environment, (e) growing in greater practice, (f) kindle a connection with God. The area of several Pastoral Counselling as Pastors of organizations can help many individuals make the transformation from
being institutionalized back to nature. Counselors can help individuals unite with public basics and organized groups associated with the individual’s religious connection.
