D185 Task 1
A1.
The education setting for this curriculum model is grade 3 Math.
A2.
The Grade 3 Math curriculum goal is to foster student learning and facilitate leadership princi-
ple, give experiences that initiate growth within our young students, introduce critical thinking skills and aid students in navigating through mathematical concepts. Lastly, the student will en-
hance their critical thinking skills in mathematics, experience new ventures in mathematics, ex-
plore mathematical concepts and meet the standards by practicing the application of mathemati-
cal strategies.

The proposition of the new curriculum will be based on my rationale on the changes that the school needs. One of the first changes is to alter the psyche of the students as far at their behav-
ior is concerned. The students lack the moral compass which interferes with their behavior and the ability to learn and focus in class. Moreover, the students lack the ability to think critically on math concepts and develop as an all-around student as an individual. Overall, my whole rea-
soning for proposing this curriculum is that I would like to set them up with the tools and and skill set that give them an positive experience that will them further in their future overall growth. My proposition includes a process that involves implementing leadership principles that
should give the students confidence in learning, deter distractions, correct negative behaviors and
aid in the overall development as individuals. Secondly, the students struggle the most with word problems and thinking critically while reading about math concepts. As a result, by teach-
ing leadership skills and giving them positive experiences to apply what they’ve learned, this will increase the likelihood of positively impacted the student and improving their performance outcomes as a whole.
A4.
The name of the curriculum is the Tyler’s model of curriculum. Tyler’s model of curriculum is built on 3 postulate objectives. The postulates objectives are based on the student, society and subject matter, respectively (Gordon, 2019). The basis of the objectives are broken down into different components. The student component focuses on the putting emphasis on the student’s experiences and aligning it with their curricular goals. The subject matter and student compo-
nent then combine in guiding students in navigating math concepts. The society and student components juxtaposes leadership principles and practicing applying strategies to meet stan-
dards. The subject matter component includes the development of applying math concepts and building experiences that further the growth of the student. In conclusion, we combine all the components to positively impact the student in a fashion that produces a students with the keen
ability to master math skills, adopt discipline in their life and can apply new knowledge practical experiences A5.
The feasibility and and appropriateness of the Tyler Model is pertinent to addressing all the com-
ponents that improve the subject matter, society and student curricular goals overall in this de-
partment. The Tyler model enhances the experiences of each student to make a huge impact in society and helps facilitate the need for students to use the practical math skills in everyday life and be functional in society. All in all, the Tyler model represents a textbook curriculum that is very extensive and is a meaningful process of learning for students.
