Topic 3 DQ 2 Submitted on: Dec 8, 2023, 9:22 PM GO TO DISCUSSION Start Date Dec 4, 2023, 12:00 AM Due Date Dec 8, 2023, 11:59 PM Points 5 Status Published Assessment Description Many classrooms today are equipped with iPads or tablets or allow students to BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). This opens up the world of downloadable apps for your students. Select a grade level, research, and list three apps you think would help students the most in your classroom. Describe each app and why you think the app would be beneficial to your students. Attempt 1 RH Randi Hermann Dec 8, 2023, 9:22 PM Good evening Dr. Guillory and Classmates. Here are three apps I believe would be most beneficial in a fourth-grade classroom: 1. GoNoodle.com: This app I am very familiar with as we use it a lot in the school I am employed through. It is an excellent app for students as it combines physical activity with learning. Young students often have a lot of energy and limited attention span so I think it's good to take 5 minutes or so, to get some of their "zoomies" out. This app includes a variety of movement and mindfulness videos, which not only encourage physical activity but also help in improving student's focus and cognitive skills. 2. Flocabulary: This was a new app I researched and I found it to be very interesting. This platform uses educational hip-hop music to create engaging and interactive learning experiences. Music is a powerful tool in education, especially for younger children. Flocabulary's approach can help enhance vocabulary, teach academic content, and improve literacy skills in a fun and
memorable way. The rhythmic and rhyming aspects of the songs can aid in better retention of information, making learning more effective and enjoyable. 3. Prodigy: Prodigy is a math game that can turn what is often a challenging subject, into a fun and interactive experience. It adapts to each student's learning style and pace, ensuring that all students are adequately challenged. Since it's game-based, it keeps students motivated and engaged, encouraging them to practice more math than they might in a traditional setting. This can lead to significant improvements in their mathematical abilities and confidence.
