Report
In your own words, explain how the ad display network system works. According to the chapter, the display network starts with a group of people that brainstorm and make plans based on the company of the ad network (Larson & Draper, 2022). Then the group of people decide the size of the ad, how they want to display it, and when the best moments are to display it. Then the advertisers give payment to the display network group, and then the group will report the results. They will relay whether the ad is doing well or what might need to be changed. Website 1: Dallas News Describe who the ad is targeting: This ad is targeting anyone who needs an attorney because they were injured. They also may be targeting anyone who needs an attorney quickly and easily due to the simple steps shown. The ad is specific to people in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Corpus Christi. Identify the value propositions and calls-to-action in the ads: The call to action is very straight forward with how they list the three simple steps. They are asking for consumers to contact them, then they will receive help from attorneys and the attorneys will handle everything. This is showing someone how quickly and simply they can get help in their area. Website 2: Better Homes & Garden Describe who the ad is targeting: This advertisement from Xfinity is targeting people that need affordable internet service. This may target students, people on a fixed income, or anyone looking for a deal. Identify the value propositions and calls-to-action in the ads: There is a value proposition in the 10G network, and the low cost provided. The call to action in this ad is pretty simple because it says, “get it now.” Explain at least three reasons why it is valuable and profitable for advertisers to keep advertising to someone who has already been to their website. This is how brands build loyalty and maintain long term business. If a company were to never advertise to their existing customers again, then it is more likely to lose that relationship down the road. Continuing this also
builds brand awareness. Some customers may be hesitant when first buying from a site, so when they have bought from a website before, they are more likely to buy again when they have had a successful purchase. This creates trust and reliability. Remarketing Remarketing can be seen as coming back around to an audience that you tried to market to before but maybe there was not much success. This way a company can touch base on any leads they had without losing the interest of those customers once they shift. It could also be used to continue to engage with customers who are interested, and this can cause them to purchase more in the future. Banner Ad: Total Restroom Describe what elements of this ad you could test This was a bit difficult because I had looked up seven websites and none of them had a banner ad. I finally decided to look up a New York Times website because they typically have a banner ad. This ad was for Total Restroom which sells different commercial bathroom appliances. I am going to assume this ad only generated because of all the different resources I had to search for our most recent assignment. This is an example of remarking to me because I had been to their site a couple times for our assignment, and I did not purchase anything.
