The first Earth Day was held on April 22, 1970, it was celebrated all throughout the United States. Currently, it's a global event that people from all over the world celebrate. Before the movement started in the 1970's, a great oil spill happened in Santa Barbara, California 1969. Thus, the oil spill encouraged Senator Gaylord Nelson to have a day, to specifically focus on helping the environment and teach the public about natural disasters (History of earth day). As a result a year later, millions of people went to the streets protesting for the negative impacts of more than a hundred years of industrial development on the environment. The natural environment has been on a road of destruction ever since the industrial revolution. In addition, humans are overwhelmed with gaining wealth that they have ignored the natural environmental needs for hundreds of years. It can be said that this movement has been a great success in protecting the environment with all the participation of the civilians. The Most Memorable Meal Essay The Most Memorable Meal As a food lover and adventurous eater, I've certainly eaten so many kinds of food from many countries around the world. And I have a lot of good and bad moments related to food. However, when you ask me about the most memorable meal that I have eaten in my life, perhaps the first thing that appears in my mind is my daddy's soup. It was 10 years ago, when I was just a little boy. At that time, my mom had so much work at her office and she just couldn't come back home until 9 p.m. In my family, my mom was the only one who could prepare food and cook. So when she called my dad and said that she couldn't come back home early to cook a meal for me and my father, we thought that we were having the biggest problem in ...show more content... And I was so surprised about my dad's soup. All my thoughts about a great meal were taken down. The soup was not as delicious as it looked, it tasted so weird: at first, I felt it so salty, after a while, it tasted so spicy. After tasting the first sip, I looked at my dad and smiled. He just thought that he was successful with his soup until he tried his first sip. Then he knew how his soup was and he said "Sorry son, I tried my best, maybe we can wait for mom to come back home and cook dinner for us." As soon as he finished speaking, I took the spoon, continued eating the soup and smiled. I know the soup was not good, but it was from my dad, from all his love for me. I don't know if my dad knew what I was thinking or not, or maybe he thought that I was so hungry to eat everything even though it tasted too bad. My dad was so surprised about my act for a while, and he continued to eat the soup with me. We both had a great time together, eating and talking with each other about bad things, good things at work and school. After that, my mom finally came home. She looked so tired from her work, but she still smiled and looked at me and my dad while both of us were eating soup. She surely knew my dad made something for me and she slowly went forward to the table and started tasting the soup. After her tasting, not a single word, she hugged both of us with her slender arms and also with all her heart. This Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Essay on Website Design Facebook, Myspace, Yahoo, Google, and Twitter are all websites that people use every day, but how did they get there and how were they created? Website design is a process of assorting and linking codes and graphics into a text editor such as notepad and then displaying it onto a web browser. There is a large amount of things to remember for website design. Ranging from HTML , CSS, and XHTML codes to scripting languages like Java Script. Websites did not need to be big, elaborate, and flashy. They just needed to get the point across, and that is exactly the purpose they served. In 1994 the World Wide Web Consortim or W3C was established to oversee the development of web technology standards. The W3C designated HTML as the primary code language for the future of website design to be based on. Of course they have made advancements in the base design code such as HTML versions one, two, three, four, and XHTML. The very first and current director of W3C is Tim Berners–Lee. Tim actually invented the World Wide Web in 1991 and created the world's first website. He put the first website online on August 6, 1991. The web address was http://info.cern.ch/. Unfortunately it no longer exists in its original form. The W3C is still in charge of code techniques and development guidelines that website development follows. Technology has advanced over the years in web design. Website design is cut up into four generations. The first generation of web design was very simple. It was basically just text, this was because early modems were very slow and plain basic webpages would load much faster this way. The second generation was slightly more advanced as the development of HTML became more complicated. The third generation of web design is when website designers could add vibrant colors and animated images to their webpage. The evolution of websites and their Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

Most of this generation of teens have the advantage of being digitally aware, with on–line gaming, Face book and Twitter part of everyday conversations. For these learners keyboard skills are almost inherent, yet for some it has generated a further problem. It is the letters on the keyboard itself that creates a barrier to interactive action learning, this is the case for some of my students and indeed for myself as a facilitator of learning for non readers. Dearing, (1997 p.20) mentions. "New technology is changing the way information is stored and transmitted. This has implications for both the skills which higher education needs to develop and the way in which it is delivered. Universities may invest millions of pounds in the provision of computer hardware without ever seriously considering the educational results such investment may deliver. This is true of Entry level learning also. Mumford, (1995 pp.55–57) "However, the student must be exposed to the technology in a Get more content on StudyHub.Vip
Customer Service Essay examples Companies are misguided nowadays by the notion that customers depend on them, when the truth of the matter is that companies are dependent on those customers. Customer satisfaction and customer loyalty is now essential for a business or company to survive. So what is the difference between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and how to companies and or business achieve this? Also when you have difficult customers how do you achieve customer satisfaction? It's essential that companies or businesses today listen to their customers. No company or business today can afford to disregard the importance of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Aren't they the same thing? No, they are absolutely not and they are enormously ...show more content... Customer loyalty is much harder to obtain that customer service satisfaction. The most important first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well as tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So it's essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more. Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs, Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing . Another way to build loyalty is to treat your employees so well that they treat your customers well. If you have happy employees they will treat your customers happy. Greatest Invention Essays What is the greatest invention of all time? Throughout time there have been lots of new inventions which have both hindered and helped everyday life with humans. There are many different possible world's greatest inventions because they have all helped out humankind in some way, some more than others. I think that the greatest invention of all time is Harnessed Electricity. Some may argue that this was not an invention it was a discovery but although electricity itself was a discovery there was still the invention of had to use it and what it could be used for. I believe that the use of electricity in healthcare is more important than the use of penicillin because of the x–rays, MRI scans, life support machines, cat scans, ultrasound, surgery lighting, heart rate monitors, incubators and loads of other much needed specialist equipment. This equipment has over the years helped to save millions of lives and although penicillin helps to treat the odd few illnesses it doesn't help to run a well equipped hospital which saves even more lives with the billions of people who visit a hospital every year. Without electricity there would be no light and it would constantly be dark from around 4pm ever day. This would restrict most people from doing things because as soon as it was dark they would have to go to bed because there would be no lighting. Nobody could go out after dark as there would be no street lights on the roads and houses would have to be lit by candle light which wouldn't give of the strength of light that a light bulb does now. Yet again it would be exactly like living in the dark ages. Get more content on StudyHub.Vip

The Dangers of Social Media Essay Like technology, our species has adapted to fit modern times. Through these adaptations, we have begun to communicate through our newly developed technology by means of social media. In today's society, we are surrounded by sites such as Facebook, Twitter, E–Mail, and various other websites that can often times consume our lives. CNN's article "The anti–social network: Life without Facebook", states that some students who are trying to maintain a professional image for future employment are deleting their pages. Going along with the privacy issue, some people feel that they no longer want to share personal things with their Facebook friends. Often times, their friends are people that they barely know, whether they went to high school together or they may be a friend of a friend. Users feel that these people do not need to know all of the intimate details of their lives.
