Short Paper 6-2 2 From its inception, Walmart has been dedicated to positively impacting its customers' lives. Building on this commitment, Walmart now extends its focus to provide a similarly enriching experience for its employees. The pledge is to cultivate a workplace culture centered around our core values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence, ensuring that our associates work and belong (Heinz, 2023). Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives are strategically integrated to foster a welcoming environment that supports individuals from diverse backgrounds in realizing their full potential within the workplace (Heinz, 2023). Recognizing the transformative power of DEI, Walmart is incorporating these initiatives into its policies and practices, revolutionizing how the company engages with stakeholders, employees, suppliers, and customers. To lead this transformative journey, we have appointed a Director of Culture with a proven track record of expanding organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion. In an exciting development, Walmart is proud to unveil its inaugural DEI Intranet Portal Page, aptly named the "Alliance for Inclusion." This comprehensive portal will encompass new employee resource groups, individualized store profile pages, culture and religious calendars, and organizational achievements. The regionalized employee resource groups will provide a platform for diverse employees to form local chapters of supportive groups, enhancing the well- being of our workforce. The central portal page will feature a calendar showcasing various celebrations from different cultures and religions. Each event will be accompanied by a brief summary,
highlighting its significance and symbolism within the respective culture or religion. The portal will also spotlight the victories achieved collectively as an organization and individually by specific stores. By introducing individualized store profile pages, we aim to create a space for employees to express their unique identities. Each employee's profile will include an audio pronunciation of their name, preferred pronouns, and cultural identification. Furthermore, store profile pages will feature impactful stories, celebrating employees and their contributions to the communities they serve. The Alliance for Inclusion represents Walmart's commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, ensuring that every employee feels valued and acknowledged for their unique contributions.
