Business Proposal Assignment-Team Project (20%)
In this assignment, teams of students will identify a current health care issue that would require
the initiation of a new service or program within a health care organization. Each team will
develop a business proposal for the new service that covers the critical elements for
consideration of the proposed change.
This assignment also
requires a
Self- and Peer-Evaluation

completed by each individual student
. As this evaluation is
a fundamental component of individual grade calculation for the team project,
students who do
not submit their evaluations within three calendar days of the assignment due date will receive a
grade, less the weighting component of the self-evaluation
(approximately 1/3 of the graded
assignment).
Your business proposal assignment will include:
1.
Title page (APA format)
2.
Eight to ten-page double-spaced paper where you will identify a current health care issue
that would require the initiation of a new service/program within a health care
organization. Develop a business proposal for the new service that covers the critical
elements for consideration of the proposed change. See specific sections below.
3.
Reference Page(s)
4.
Self- and Peer-Evaluation
You are expected to use course texts and additional research is needed. Cite peer-reviewed
articles to support your viewpoints (minimum of 5 credible websites and 5 current {< 5 years}
peer-reviewed articles). Please cite references according to APA format.

Executive Summary
- Abstract
Name of Organization and Project
– Provide the name of the organization and project
Agenda
– Describe how the proposal will meet the provincial/national health care agenda
Project Definition
- A definition of the project
Community Benefits
- A description of the benefits to the community that the health care
organization serves
Collaboration
– Describe how the project demonstrates collaboration with community partners
Sustainability
- How the project promotes health system sustainability
Financial Details
– Provide a description of the financial details of the project. This should be
presented in the format of a financial report/spreadsheet). Provide information related to the:
1.
One-time start-up costs (i.e. training, consultants)
2.
Operational costs (i.e. human resources, equipment)
3.
Capital costs (i.e. large equipment purchases, renovations)
4.
Savings to the organization as a result of the new service
Timeline
– Describe the project timeline, including milestones and key deliverables
Summary
– Provide a summary of the business proposal/project
In addition to the above, the proposal should
take into consideration potential pandemic (i.e.
COVID-19) considerations
as appropriate.
