Module 05 Assignment - Reflection Assignment - A Plan to Encourage Family Engagement Resia Moore Rasmussen University EC211/EEC2401 Section 02 Dynamics of the Family Pro. Lauren Pierre 2/4/2024
In an attempt to get Mr.Carefree involved at Peggy’s school I would send frequent emails regarding all school events and Peggy’s growth. It is stated that children whose parents are actively involved in their schooling have better attendance and behavior, get better grades, demonstrate better social skills and adapt better to school . Parental involvement also more securely sets these students up to develop a lifelong love of learning. Mr. Carefree please join us at our Open House next Thursday at 6pm. I guarantee you would go home encouraged and gain confidence as a parent that you didn’t know was possible. Most of our current families have or had multiple children at our center. This would be a great opportunity for you and your family to connect and possibly build relationships with other families that are like yours. You will learn more about our program, education philosophy and lesson plans in a hands on and personal way. You will also see what happens in Peggy’s classroom daily. Here at Ascension Early Childcare Center we have an open-door policy. You should come in and witness what we do firsthand. This week will consist of our toddlers engaging in various fine motor, gross motor, language, math, social emotional, science, self-help and sensory activities. I think you would enjoy helping out with one of our language activities. We’ve been working on how to spell and sight words and Peggy’s has improved tremendously with her words. If you would like to know exactly where Peggy should be developmentally, I have several resources that could aid you. However, rest assure Peggy is right on target developmentally. She’s mastered Physical Motor Development climbing/swinging, using forks/spoons,
and hoping/skipping. Communication/Language Development He speaks very clearly. Using 5 or more words, can state full name and address, and use future tense such as I will be there. Social/Emotional development he’s able to express his likes and dislikes and knows the difference between fantasy and reality. He can print his name and write numbers that are presented to him. He can also count more than 10 objects. In which means his cognitive development is where it should be.
