Nordfield Attorney and Law
April 24, 2022
Dear Lawless, Inc:
I hope business is going well. My name is Beverly Baxter, and I am an attorney at Nordfield
Attorney and Law representing Ms. Crane. I am writing regarding Ms. Crane dissatisfaction as
an employee at Lawless, Inc for discrimination due to her gender identity.
According to Connecticut Code – Sec. 46a-60. Discriminatory employment practices prohibited.
“
Refuse to hire or employ or to bar or to discharge from employment any individual or to
discriminate against such individual in compensation or in terms, conditions or privileges of
employment because of the individual's race, color, religious creed, age, sex, marital status,
national origin, ancestry, present or past history of mental disability, mental retardation, learning
disability or physical disability, including, but not limited to, blindness.” Is a discriminatory
practice in violation of this section. My client’s decision with proper steps taken through Human
Resources as a transgender to be address as the sex she identifies as was violated. My client
received discriminatory remarks from her supervisor, was placed on a Performance Improvement
Plan (PIP), was overlooked on assignments she normally would receive, and eventually was
terminated. She was ostracized and treated unprofessionally by her job she has been dedicated to
and working with for five years as a computer programmer.
My client is wishing to address this issue and would prefer to resolve this matter without the
need for litigation. A response from your legal representative within 10 business days to discuss
this matter would be appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to
contact me at (203) 316-2874. I look forward to speaking with you and hopefully resolving this
matter.
Sincerely,
Beverly Baxter, Attorney, Nordfield Attorney and Law.
