The chain of custody is one if not the most crucial process of the evidence documentation. It is mainly to
ensure to the court of law that the evidence is authentic. Meaning, the the evidence is the same that is ceased at the crime scene. At all times the custody of a person that is designated to hadle it for which has never been accounted for. As we know the process can be very lengthy it is required that the evidence is relevant to the court. The community of the evidence possession of custody and its movements at the scene of the crime to transport the lab for examination and the time that is submitted to the court is known as the chain of custody. Evidence is crucial to proving
in court in many legal proceedings. The evidence may include the following; DNA evidence, samples, photographs, and any documents that will have testimony or a disproval of an argument. In order to keep track of evidence at all times a chain of custody must be in place to circle out any popssible chance of mishandling or any tampering with evidence. Many key pieces of evidence or information that may be included in a chain of custody depended on what is collected and the nature of the case. A proper example would be date and time of collection, name oof investagator, and location of collection.
