Import the file ’Eat Well reviews.csv’. Save as an Excel workbook with filename “Assignment3_” and your username (matching your College email address) to the filename. E.g. Assignment3_tcooperbarfoot.xlsx. Add a worksheet called ‘Author information’ with the same author information as Assignments 1 and 2. Add your answers to this workbook in the locations which are specified below. Format your Excel workbook professionally (correct filename, author information), use good spelling and grammar, and answer in your own words to obtain the presentation marks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Problem Statement A fine dining restaurant known as Eat Well is located in Toronto. Celebrity chef Bobby Flay is the head chef at Eat Well. At the end of the meal, customers to the restaurant are asked to complete a satisfaction survey and leave a rating out of 5. 55 customer ratings and text comments about their satisfaction are given in the file ‘Eat Well reviews.csv’. Your job is to carry out Qualitative Data analysis of the review data and use the 5-step process for Qualitative Data analysis to answer the following: show a visualization of the data what are the biggest customer concerns? what matters most to the customers? what do you recommend to improve customer satisfaction? Prepare, Review, Code (9 marks) In the worksheet called ‘Eat Well reviews’, do the following: a) Prepare the data: correct spelling, remove extra spaces, characters, symbols and words that do not have meaning 1
b) Review the data: choose 4 themes or topics which describe the comments made by customers (e.g. taste) c) Code the data: add the title ‘Code’ to cell C1. Code at least 20 of the customer comments (rows) using one of the 4 themes or topics selected in step b). For each of the 20 rows, record the theme/topic in the Code column. (e.g. enter ‘taste’ into C2) Identify Patterns (7 marks) d) Add a new worksheet called ‘Patterns’ e) Create a Frequency Distribution Table based on the Coded values. Add the Frequency Distribution Table to cells A1:B5 in ‘Patterns’ worksheet with the titles in row 1. f) In cell C2 of ‘Patterns’, add the following formula to calculate the average star rating for each of the themes/topics: =AVERAGEIF('Eat Well reviews'!C:C,Patterns!A2,'Eat Well reviews'!B:B) g) For the table in ‘Eat Well reviews’, add filters to columns and filter on the value of Code which has the highest frequency. Summary (6 marks) h) Add a new worksheet called ‘Conclusions’ i) In row 1, based on the table in ‘Patterns’, answer the question: what matters most to customers (has highest frequency)? j) In row 3, based on the table in ‘Patterns’, answer the question: what theme/topic is the biggest concerns for customers (has lowest average star rating)? k) In row 5, based on the previous answers and the comments in ‘Eat Well reviews’, answer the question: what do you recommend to improve customer satisfaction? 2
