Executive Summary
This project aims to develop innovative magnetic kitchen backsplash tiles for Amazon, addressing the demand
for adaptable and visually appealing kitchen solutions with storage features. The project's scope includes
research, design, engineering, testing, and documentation, with a $100,000 budget and a completion target of
December 15, 2023. Success depends on meeting these milestones and delivering prototypes aligning with the
client's vision and production feasibility. Key stakeholders, including the Project Manager, Designers, Testers, and
Amazon, collaborate to ensure success. The project acknowledges potential risks but has mitigation strategies in
place. Ultimately, this project enhances Amazon's product lineup, market share, and revenue streams by offering
an innovative and practical kitchen solution.
Project Scope
The project scope encompasses all activities related to planning, designing, engineering, production, and testing
innovative magnetic backsplash tiles for kitchens, along with preparing comprehensive product documentation
to support mass production. We will develop prototypes within this scope, ensure they meet design criteria, and
provide detailed manufacturing documentation. However, it is essential to note that the scope explicitly excludes
activities beyond this, such as mass manufacturing, marketing, sales efforts, ongoing maintenance, training, and
continuous support. Additionally, the scope does not extend to cover training material, helpdesk services, or
software support, as these elements fall outside the defined boundaries of this project. These boundaries are
crucial to preventing scope creep and ensuring the project's successful and timely completion.

Internal and External Dependencies
The success of this project relies on both internal and external dependencies. Internally, the availability of
project team members is crucial for timely communication, resource allocation, and collaboration. Effective
coordination among the project manager, designers, and testers is essential to meeting project milestones.
Externally, access to a suitable manufacturing facility is a significant dependency, directly impacting the
production of magnetic backsplash tiles. Regulatory approvals and decisions from the client (Amazon) are also
external dependencies that can influence project progress. Therefore, the project's success is contingent on
timely decisions and actions by external organizations, especially regarding regulatory compliance and
manufacturing facilities. Conditions for success include the client's ability to secure necessary authorizations and
licenses promptly and the availability of a suitable manufacturing facility for prototype development and future
mass production. Effective communication and collaboration with external stakeholders are vital to addressing
these dependencies and ensuring project success.
Table 3: Project Dependencies
Internal Dependencies
External Dependencies
Resource Availability
: The project relies on the
availability of internal team members, including
the Project Manager, Designers, and Testers.
Their commitment and availability for project
tasks are critical to meeting milestones.
Manufacturing Facility Access
: Access to a
suitable manufacturing facility is a critical
external dependency. The availability of this
facility will impact the project's ability to develop
prototypes and eventually move into mass
production.
Timely Communication
: Effective communication
among team members is essential to ensure project
activities progress smoothly. Timely exchanges of
information and updates are vital for decision-making
and problem-solving.
Regulatory Approvals
: The project's success
depends on obtaining necessary regulatory
approvals and compliance. Delays in securing
these approvals could affect project timelines.
Resource Allocation
: Proper allocation of resources,
including time and budget, is necessary to execute
project tasks efficiently. Ensuring that resources are
allocated according to the project plan is essential for
staying on schedule and within budget.
Client Decisions (Amazon)
: The client
(Amazon) is pivotal in providing project
requirements, feedback, and design and product
specifications approvals. Timely decisions and
clear communication from the client are essential
for project progress.
Authorization and Licensing
: The project's
success is contingent on the client's ability to
promptly secure all required approvals and
licenses. Any delays in obtaining these
authorizations may impact the project's ability to
proceed.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
The project's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) follows a hierarchical approach to organize its components
effectively. The project is divided into phases at the highest level: research and design, engineering and
manufacturing, and testing and documentation. Each step is further broken down into sub-phases or significant
deliverables, decomposed into specific work packages or tasks. This hierarchical structure ensures a clear and

structured view of the project scope, enabling better resource allocation, responsibility assignment, and progress
tracking. It also enhances communication, minimizes scope creep, and supports effective project management
throughout the project lifecycle.

Risks (Internal and External)
To collect risk effectively we did the team meeting to identify the possible potential risks. We also conducted the
meeting with the experts of this industry and gather most of the data for other projects to study all kind of risks.
Additionally, we encourage open communication channels, enabling team members and stakeholders to report
risks as they arise. All identified risks are documented in a centralized risk register.
Our Risk managing process as follow
Firstly the Risk Identification in which we identify the risk as internal or external, secondly Risk assessment in
which we see the potential impact of risk on project and which risk should be handle first, after this we have Risk
Monitoring in which Risks are continuously monitored throughout the project. Regular risk review meetings are
held to assess the effectiveness of mitigation measures and to adjust strategies as needed.

Action Logs
Maintaining the best management for magnetic Kitchen backsplash tiles project one of the crucial action is to
regularly monitor and document the task on everyday basis. This involves Supplier detail, material testing and
customer feedback and many more. If a project manager with his team can control these task in a timely manner
procedure can lead the project to success. Neglecting this aspect of project management can lead to delays, cost
overruns, and a lack of coordination among team members, ultimately jeopardizing the overall success of the
Magnetic Kitchen Backsplash Tiles project.

Scope Assumptions
For the project we have several we have identified many key assumptions that shape the boundries and context
of the project, these assumptions were established after the great discussion with our team members. We made
assumptions regarding the budget and the time line as they are one of the critical factors. We also assumed that
our team should be perfect in their skills in order to fulfill their roles effectively. These assumptions serve as
foundational elements in which our project is based
1-
The project budget has been approved and allocated for the development and production of magnetic
backsplash tiles.
2-
The project timeline is based on an estimated start date and end date.
All necessary permits and regulatory approvals for manufacturing and installation are obtained before
project commencement.
3- The project team members have the required skills and expertise.
Project Approach
In the Magnetic Kitchen Back Splash Tiles project, varied management approaches are employed to oversee
different facets, ensuring a structured and systematic advancement. Regarding action and issue management, a
centralized issue tracking system is utilized, in conjunction with consistent team meetings, to log, prioritize, and
delegate resolution responsibilities, ensuring no issue impedes the project’s progress. When addressing change
management, a structured protocol involving meticulous documentation of requested alterations,
comprehensive impact analysis, and stringent approval workflows via a Change Control Board ensures all
changes are vetted and do not inadvertently introduce scope creep. Contract management is overseen by a
procurement committee, which not only ensures adherence to contract terms by vendors but also guarantees
timely payments and invoice management through a systematic tracking and reminder system, hence
maintaining healthy vendor relations and continuous supply chains. Each of these approaches is formulated with
a keen eye on potential ripple effects on the project scope, thereby ensuring that each management decision
reinforces, rather than detracts from, the established project trajectory.
