The ACME company has hired me to complete a comprehensive project management plan. The company administration has become aware of the list of vulnerabilities and improvements that need to be addressed on their network. Mission Statement
ACME’s goals are to secure all data within the network. It is our job to implement the changes needed to provide the employees and clients of ACME with the security they expect. This project will focus on the three risk domains people, process, and technology. Risk domain people will start the project by security awareness training to all employees. The goal is to have all employees within the organization have a clear understanding of threats and risks that can occur. At the end of the training our goal is to have all employees understand the importance of data security. Risk domain process will focus on cyber security framework. The goal is to create a cyber security infrastructure to secure the network from data breaches or attacks. By implementing these changes, we secure the company and client’s data from risk. If changes are not made the organization can be left with severe consequences. Risk domain technology will address the issues with the hardware within the network. Updating the hardware will protect the data within the network. Thus, preventing data from being stolen or damaged. Without the appropriate changes data can be at risk resulting in a negative impact on ACME.
Organization
This project’s main focus is securing the network from any risks or threats. In doing so we are incorporating a multi-layered approach to security. This project when completed will ensure that all data will be collected and stored in a secure way allowing for ACME to conduct business efficiently. The security measures will provide the organization and its clients with a sense of trust. This in turn will allow the company to grow and be able to reach new levels of success. The new and updated security measures will allow for ACME to have scalability without causing issues or restrictions within the network. As more employees come in, implementing cyber security training and invoking least privilege will allow for an easy transition for new employees. Updating hardware and software will not affect the organization as it continues to grow instead it will continue to secure the network. When new devices are added to the network, ensuring the appropriate adjustments are made firewalls and endpoint security solutions will not be affected. Project Completion
The purpose of this project is to provide ACME with a secure network meeting the requirements set forth by the company to ensure data remains safe and secure within our organization. Phase 1 will see the people of the organization have a better understanding of the importance of cyber security through training. The second phase will provide the organization with a comprehensive plan that will serve as a road map in an event of a security incident. It will also provide appropriate tools that will protect the data within the organization. Phase three will focus on the hardware within ACME. always locked securing the data. All servers and data within the organization will be locked in a secure room with the use of access controls that only allows individuals who need access to be granted. When the project has been completed the company will have a secure network allowing clients to work with ACME knowing they have put their best interests first.
This project will have little impact on the organization while being completed. Employees will still be able to compete job duties with limited interruption. Within the timeframe allotted to complete this project there will be times that departments will need to be away from their desks to complete the cyber security training. All major changes to the network can be completed during the weekends and overnight when business is non-operational. These changes will have little impact on day-to-day operation but will provide the company with the security it needs for the organization and its clients.
