2 Explain the concept of Windows virtual Desktop. Why would the user need more than one desktop? What are the key functionalities of Windows virtual Desktop? What is a virtual desktop? A virtual desktop is a software emulation of a hardware device that runs on a physical or virtual machine at a remote location, hosted either on premises or in the cloud. Virtual desktops —such as Azure Virtual Desktop—enable end users to access their unique desktop environments remotely over a network. This can include operating systems and applications, which are accessed through client software or a web browser on the endpoint devices of their choice. Microsoft's Windows Virtual Desktop technology enables one machine (a server) to run many instances of Windows 10 concurrently. The purpose of this virtual desktop computing architecture is to replace our daily use of powerful computers with "dumb terminals" that connect to our Windows 10 cloud. Why would the user need more than one desktop? When you have several desktops, you may divide the open windows into various groups so that you can concentrate on one group at a time. With a separate desktop for each project, this makes juggling many tasks at once much simpler. When you have several desktops, you may divide the open windows into various groups so that you can concentrate on one group at a time. With a separate desktop for each project, this makes juggling many tasks at once much simpler. What are the key functionalities of Windows virtual Desktop? 1. Simplified end-point management: 2. Security: 3. Mobility:
3 4. Cost reduction: 5. Cheaper hardware replacement costs: The goal of virtual desktops is to make conventional computing more scalable, efficient, and cost-effective while improving workload management. Organizations and the academic community are increasingly embracing virtual desktops due to its capacity to provide a decrease in investment outlays and operational expenses. consider the following advantages of a virtual desktop for your company as you give it some thought: Work remotely safely and effectively on any device increased adherence (i.e., via data encryption) lower licensing and infrastructure costs Protection from disruptions and reduced downtime to increase productivity IT administration made easier enhancing the security of important application and user data What is a virtual desktop? In virtual desktops, the desktop environment is segregated from the physical device being used to access it. They are preloaded images of operating systems and apps. Over a network, users may remotely view their virtual desktops. A virtual desktop may be accessed from any endpoint device, including a laptop, smartphone, or tablet. The user interacts with the client software that was installed on the endpoint device by the virtual desktop provider. A virtual desktop is also software simulation of a hardware device that operates on a real or virtual system at a distant location and is hosted either on-site or in the cloud. End users may access their own desktop environments remotely across a network thanks to virtual desktops like Azure Virtual Desktop. In a sense, virtual desktops are exact replicas of real computers.

4 Users may utilize and access their virtual desktop from any place and any internet-connected device. A virtual desktop has the appearance and feel of a computer, but it is entirely controlled by the management organization and is handled by a server.
