SPED 5153: UDL Assignment
Instructions
You have spent a lot of time researching and learning more about how to use the UDL framework to create equitable instruction for all
your students. This final project is going to have you tie it all together into one project. At the completion of this project, you will need
to demonstrate your understanding of the Council for Exceptional Children’s Standards:
Standard 3: Demonstrating Subject Matter Content and Specialized Curricular Knowledges
Standard 6: Supporting Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Growth
For this project you will turn in 2 attachments. For Part 1, you will be creating a unit of 2-3 lessons demonstrating your ability to use
content knowledge to meet the needs of all students. These lesson plans as well as supporting documents will be the first attachment
you submit. The first page of this document will be your title page followed by your paper. For the second attachment you will need to
open a new document – Decision-Making Reflection. This will be based off your lesson plans as well as the information you learned
in this course. Start with an appropriately formatted APA title page. Your paper will be approximately 3 pages. See below for more
specific information.
Part 1 - Unit Lesson Plan:
1. Start with a properly formatted 7th ed. APA title page.
2. Using the lesson plan template below, create 2-3 lessons for your unit, updating it with feedback provided throughout the course, as
well as any additional information you learned. You will need to ensure your lessons are detailed and that you include all supporting
documents necessary. Think about your lesson plan and supporting documents as being for a substitute teacher who has to come in
your classroom and teach this unit.

3. Please note that each section of every lesson plan does not need to include
both
UDL and culturally responsive teaching practices,
however, you should have at least one of those in each section of your lesson plan and some sections may have several. Be thorough
when thinking about this for each lesson plan.
4. Use the Lesson Plan Template provided below for each of your lessons. You must copy and paste (or recreate) this exact template
into your final paper.
