• The process of translating the quality management plan into executable quality activities that incorporate the organization’s quality policies into the project (ISO 1006: 2017) • The implementation of the quality management is about ensuring that the quality objectives of the project are met as well as identifying ineffective processes and causes of poor quality. • Implementation is the process that turns plans into actions in order to achieve the objectives of the project. • Facilitates the improvement of quality processes • Compares actual quality with the quality goal/standards • Establishes organizational procedures and standards for quality. • Standards are the key to effective quality management. • Process standards define how the project work should be carried out • Product standards define characteristics that all product should exhibit e.g. features and functions Why Managing Quality? 5
