Choose at least one and explain why it is important to you. Do any of these factors relate back to the values you selected in Focus 2? Recommended minimum word count: 75 words For me, flexibility is one of the most crucial aspects when choosing a career. My ability to reconcile my personal needs and professional obligations is enhanced by having a flexible work schedule. It gives me the flexibility to follow my interests, spend time with my family, look for myself, and engage in other activities outside of work. I appreciate autonomy and work-life balance equally, thus this is essential to me. I want my job schedule to be set up so that doesn't conflict with my obligations. That guarantees that my profession does not supersede and supports my personal life, which adds to my general happiness and well- being.

2. Review the required skills and abilities of this career (Part 1, question #6). Which is a strength you already possess and which will you need to improve in order to be successful? Refer back to your Skills Assessment in Focus 2. Recommended minimum word count: 75 words 3. Restate your Focus 2 results from your Work Interest Assessment (Holland Code). How does your Holland Code align (or not align) with this career? This is not simply asking if people in this career have the same Holland code as you. Instead, how will this career utilize your interests? Are there interests that are not met? Recommended minimum word count: 75 words Within the same job family, there are two career options that I could imagine exploring: Human Resources Management (HR) and Organizational Development (OD). Human Resources Management involves managing people, recruiting, and employee relations, as well as ensuring employment laws are adhered to. It requires a strong interpersonal skill set, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation of organizational dynamics. On the other hand, Organizational Development involves interventions and strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, culture, and employee engagement, as well as change management, training, and the creation of a better work environment. My Holland Code from Work Interest Assessment shows a strong interest in the “Social” category, which encompasses working with people and understanding their needs, as well as supporting their growth. A career in HR is in line with this interest, as it involves working with employees, resolving issues, facilitating growth, and taking advantage of my natural inclination towards social interaction. However, some aspects of the “Investigative” category, such as problem-solving and decision-making, may not be fully fulfilled in a career in HR. 4. Review the job outlook (Part 1, question #4). How does this job outlook affect your decision to pursue this career? Explain your answer. Recommended minimum word count: 50 words The employment forecast has a big influence on my choice of work. A positive work outlook suggests that there is a growing need for experts in that industry, which can lead to more stable employment possibilities and opportunities for career progression. My pursuit of Human Resources Management is motivated by a positive view that gives me confidence in the long-term viability and future expansion of this professional path. 5. What are two similar career options (in the same job family) that you could also see yourself exploring? Explain why these careers may or not be strong options for you. Recommended minimum word count: 50 words
There are two career paths I could imagine pursuing in the same job family: human resources management and organizational development. Human resources management is all about managing people, recruiting, and employee relations, as well as making sure employment laws are followed. It requires strong people skills, problem solving skills, and an ability to understand organizational dynamics. Organizational development, on the other hand, is all about improving organizational performance, culture, and engagement. It focuses on interventions and strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, training, and creating a better work environment. Both of these paths align with my interests in people-oriented roles, but I think Human Resources Management is more appealing because it involves directly dealing with employee-related issues, which aligns with my passion for creating positive workplace environments. On the other hand, Organizational Development is more about systemic changes within the organization, which may not fully match my preferences for direct people-to-people interactions. 6. Where can you go from here? Discuss one next step you can take this semester to push you closer to achieving your career goals? Recommended minimum word count: 50 words One of the next steps I can take this semester is to enroll in an advanced skills course or certification program in my field. This will help me align my skills with my career goals and help me strengthen my credentials and increase my chances of competing in the job market. Part 3: List Websites Used List the websites you used for your research. https://www.focus2career.com https://www.simplilearn.com/systems-administrator-article#:~:text=Most%20recruiters %20seek%20systems%20administrators,administration%20position%20in%20top %20organizations .
