Game Report – Team G
For this week I was the one who was going to do the heavy lifting so to speak. All three of out team members forgot to input the numbers before the first round of the simulation was run, which we communicated about Wednesday morning, and I immediately began inputting the information into the system so that we would not miss round 2 of the simulation. I got the pricing
information and our strategy from a group discussion with my other two group members. Peyton suggested that I should raise the price of milk from what I was originally going to input because of the information we learned in the introduction game. Below is the screenshot from the quantity that was input for round three, and the value of the items as well.
The screenshot above is the stock transfer plan that we agreed upon as a group and input for our team. This photo below is the purchase orders that we decided to input, and their quantities were decided by trying to get to the exact 4000 units that could be held at a time in one of our warehouses.
The results of round 3 were very good for our group. Our company was valued at over 377,000 thousand dollars, and we finished eighth out of ten teams. I think that this was very good for our team, because after not selling any product for the first two rounds. We managed to surpass two of the other teams that had been selling products for all three rounds, which shows how effective our strategy and ideas were once we finally got everything input correctly. I believe that everyone was happy with our results that we achieved after round 3 of the simulation and our conclusions that we drew were that had we been inputting information and selling product for the
first two rounds then we may have been one of the top 3 teams for this round of the simulation. One of the first things I learned is that I need to double check that I have saved my inputs before exiting the program. I thought that I had input everything correctly before the start of round 2, but I apparently did not save something or execute it correctly the first time and the independent requirements to be turned into purchase orders were nonexistent to the system. I apologized to my group members and decided to email you, the professor, in order to make sure I have executed the input process correctly for round 3 so that my teammates don’t have to suffer any more stress than what I have caused at this moment. I also informed my team members that I had
reached out to you in order to make sure that everything was set up correctly to execute round three. They understood that things happened and were not very upset that I had messed up, but
wanted me to try and get it fixed as quickly as possible. After I reread your email and input everything again, it executed properly for round three and we performed very well and were happy with our results.
