Interpret the provided data flow diagram. What does it show? What does the current purchase and supply process entail?
The data flow diagram shows that the system will Receive the Customer’s Order and then be sent to Check Out. After Check Out the order will be sent to Fulfillment and the Shipping Plan will be sent to the Carrier. The Carrier will send the Carrier Planning to the Shipper. During Fulfillment the Customer’s order
will be fulfilled and sent to the Shipper, the Delivery Plan will begin with Choosing a Supplier as well as Shipment Schedule sent to Supplier. During the selection of a Supplier Contractor Negotiations will be held until a Supplier is chosen and will be given the Shipment Schedule. The Supplier will then send items to Shipper.

What additional processes are necessary to integrate an online storefront? To integrate an online storefront, the creation of another process called Administrative Backend which would branch from the Customer. Within this process customer support, update consumer information if
the user changes anything in the settings could be included. I would also suggest adding another plan branching from the Check Out process block to ensure that the payments received from the consumer go towards Hamp Crafts' business account. What additional data sources would the system need to access the products and inventory? The additional data sources needed to access the products and inventory would include Product Carrier, Product Inventory Amount, Product Price, and Product Shipping Information.
What additional databases, if any, are needed to support the online storefront?
I think the most important database needed to support the online storefront would be a database for products to notify the company and the customer a product is running low. Finally, determine how to integrate the new online storefront into Hamp Crafts’ current purchase and supply process by responding to the following prompt: Would you recommend creating a separate new system for the online storefront or incorporating elements of the online storefront into the current process model? Incorporating elements of the online storefront into the current process model would be the better move. This is because the current process flow works for the company and the online storefront can build from any of the current processes. Also, it would be more cost efficient for the company to build from the current model than starting from scratch which could lead to errors or delays while there’s a low possibility of that happening when building from the current model.
