Hi Stephanie:
I am aware that we need to move this deadline up by 2 weeks. I as well have faith that I can definitely meet this goal, and it will require some changes to the project and team. My original plan involved an Operation’s Team of 9 members. Operation’s Team Leader is responsible over the entire reservation’s team, customer service. My Dispatch Team Leader is responsible for the Dispatch team and the fleet maintenance supervisor. In order for us to survive this project these roles were carefully selected for team and project efficiency.
In order to meet the deadline I will conduct an assessment of each team members abilities and tasks at hand and move team members around accordingly. I also decided to hold a cross training course so that each team member is capable of being well rounded and can execute jobs outside of their normal duties.
I definitely have a big enough and thoroughly trained team to be able to complete the new deadline. Cross training course was what made this possible.
I would say that there are aspects that can be skipped but not if we still want to produce quality results for our supervisor on our project. All pieces of our project are brutal in assuring all clients and partners needs and expectations are met.
Cross-Training which is my biggest change that I am proposing would not come at any additional cost.
I intend to draft a proposal for my team members letting them know that our deadline has been moved up and that cross-training would not only help us meet our new deadline. It helps them to advance by learning roles and tasks that they weren’t initially responsible for but will now have the ability to step in and handle.
Depending how my team handles the news about the deadline and how I am hoping to approach us handling it, I now have the knowledge to use multiple strategies with team members and the conflicts that might come about while trying to reach these deadlines.
I look forward to hearing what you think about my proposal on my changes to meet our new deadline.
Sincerely,
Team Leader Amber Lewis
