Career Plan Rachael DoRego I have nine years of experience in the field of education. I had no prior experience in my field. In addition to having no college education. While my child was enrolled in school, I began by volunteering in the family learning center. I found myself volunteering at the school for six to seven hours every day. I became familiar with all the background work when I volunteered. collaborating with the families and students on fun family activities or for educational goals. They gave me an opportunity to work in the on-site daycare after I had been volunteering for six months. My desire to choose a career in education was further demonstrated to me by my time spent volunteering and working in the daycare. Age wasn't for me, even though the daycare was fantastic. My goal was to work with teenagers more. Given that middle school is a difficult age, I believed I could assist them develop. A year later, I received an offer from the school's principal to work as a paraprofessional in the middle school. I couldn't wait to embark on this new adventure. Upon completing my first year as a paraprofessional, my principal and staff observed my rapid learning curve and high level of engagement. They paired me with an excellent mentor who could offer me advice and teach me various techniques. After some time, I was invited to fill in for several roles, including helping in the special education department and providing long-term substitute teaching. I began to realize as the year went on that working in the special education department was what I was most excited about. I was offered a job as a special education support teacher at the high school by the special education director, who saw all of my potential. Since the department had more ELA and history specialists, they lacked my strengths in math and science. I enjoy my job at the high school where I currently work. All of this has contributed to my personal development. I've improved my listening skills, developed patience, learnt how to handle stressful circumstances with composure, and—above all —learned how to set a fantastic example for students. My students are aware that I will be completely honest with them when they come to me for guidance or assistance. According to my students, they trust me because they appreciate that. Eventually earning my associate's degree and subsequently my bachelor's is my long-term objective. To pursue my MTELS in order to obtain a license to teach special education. In June, I enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University. My objective is to finish my associate's degree by the end of June in the upcoming year. I'm hoping to finish it in just three terms. I've been on track thus far. In the first term, I managed to obtain 20 credits, and in the second term, I managed to finish with an additional 19 credits. I need to complete 21 credits to earn my associates degree as I begin my third semester. By establishing daily and weekly goals, I was able to accomplish these objectives. establishing a strict due date for each assignment I undertake. It has been difficult for me to manage my time because I work full-time, am a mother of three, a
wife, and a high school varsity cheer coach. But I understood I had to work hard and maintain my focus if I wanted this. To be able to reach my goals, I make time each day for schoolwork. My goal is to pursue my bachelor's degree in the same manner as I did for my associate's. to finish it in three terms. I'll take at least four to five months after finishing both of my degrees to get ready for my MTELS. In three years, I hope to obtain a license to teach special education. I use a variety of tactics to reach my objectives. By putting together, a thorough daily and weekly strategy. What must be completed by the end of the week and the end of the day? Defy procrastination and take responsibility for my actions. My goals are to earn my associate's degree, my bachelor's degree, and a teaching license. I have set an ambitious target of completing 20 credits or projects per term to finish my associates degree. Every term lasts roughly sixteen weeks. To fulfill my goal, I will need to finish half of another project and at least one full project every week. To finish twenty assignments or credits. For some people, this might not be feasible, and it might not succeed. So, I've established a minimum target of 15 credits or projects per term. That would require me to turn in at least one assignment per week for the duration of the 16-week semester. Reaching my lowest objective would only push my schedule forward by around a year. I don't need a lot of resources to accomplish my goals. My academic coach is the most crucial resource I would need to make sure I stay in touch with. My academic advisor will hold me responsible for achieving my objectives if we stay in touch. Attaining a bachelor's degree using the same course of study.
