Explain why the health insurance system may not have worked for Amira. Through what
mechanism does the person have coverage?
What are the limits of their coverage?
Amira is coping with the pressure and worry that comes with working full-time to support her
family, Not being part time affect her receiving any type of employment benefits since most jobs
only offer benefits to full time employment.
Amira is a fantastic illustration of what many
Americans experience in our society. Difficulty with transportation can be take a toll on someone
living from paycheck to paycheck because she cannot afford to miss to many days of work.
Identify the role of public health in the support of health system transformation.
In the case
presented, how is public health operative as a part of the larger health system?
Although Amira might have some type of health coverage through section 330 health center, but
the center only provides limited access and for what Amira would need she would have to seek
private insurance policies adding more stress to her. Stress might increase the creation of various
unhealthy habits that have a negative impact on health . According to Tikkanen & Abrams
(2020), "more than one-quarter of U.S. adults report they have ever had a diagnosis of two or
more chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or hypertension during their
lifetime, compared to 22 percent or less in all other countries." Unfortunately, a large number of
Americans are unable to afford health insurance. Many Americans now have access to
inexpensive healthcare thanks to the inexpensive Care Act. the claim is According to Wilensky &
Teitelbaum (2020), the insurance provider and the consumer both gain from the ACA. Financial
stability is advantageous for the client (person in need of health insurance). and assurance, as
well as financial gain from the sale of insurance for the insurance firm. 2020 (Wilensky &
Teitelbaum).
A new, perhaps more egalitarian health insurance system that provides all Americans with access
to quality healthcare was the goal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) of
2010 (Wilenksy & Teitelbaum, 2020). To further enhance our healthcare system and put a
priority on the wellbeing of all Americans, actions must be taken. Amira would gain from the
ACA because it forces all health insurers to sell coverage regardless of preexisting conditions,
regardless of whether she low income or has any other preexisting problems. In accordance with
this system, Amira would be able to sign up for preventive care , obtain flu shots, receive
medical treatment, and, if necessary, seek mental health counseling.
Identify the role of public health in the support of health system transformation.
In the
case presented, how is public health operative as a part of the larger health system?
Like many other people in this world, their circumstances have nothing to do with biology,
genetics, or free will, but they do have a lot to do with people and public health (Wilensky &
Teitelbaum, 2020). The role of public health in the healthcare system is crucial. Public health
aids in identifying what is required to enhance healthcare and what initiatives or systems might
be created to positively impact health. In order to avert the issue, increased efforts must be made
to address risk factors as well as attempts to reduce expenses (Tikkanen & Abrams, 2020). Public
health plays a crucial role in this transition.
