ALTERNATIVE ASSIGNMENT
Activities During Practicum Time
While I am completing this course, I will be completing task that are similar to the requirements of the practicum. During the duration of this course, I will continue to work as a permanent substitute teacher at the elementary school level. While I am working as a permanent substitute, I will be assisting students in their reading and literacy skills. These activities can include small groups, one on one intensive teaching, and general teaching literacy lessons. Since I am a permanent substitute teacher, I have the privilege of teaching reading to students in all grades from kindergarten upwards to fifth grade. The practicum that this class requires, as well as the practicums that Liberty requires, is solely
centered on literacy instruction. While I also assist with math, science, and social studies as well,
reading and literacy instruction is a primary focus to ensure students increase their reading skills.
Therefore, while I am working as a permanent substitute teacher, I will be completing the task that are required for the practicum.
