Abstract
AI chatbots are virtual assistants that communicate with users through text-based
interfaces on websites, social media, and messaging apps. They significantly enhance healthcare
by improving patient care, administrative effectiveness, and symptom evaluation. They provide
easy access to medical information, personalized medical advice, and help evaluate symptoms.
Chatbots can offer AI-based diagnosis recommendations, assist with appointment scheduling,
and provide round-the-clock assistance. This allows healthcare personnel to focus on more
complex tasks while ensuring patients receive reliable, consistent advice. The study will focus on
the use of AI chatbots and AI-driven virtual assistants in healthcare facilities in Zorzor District.
The study will investigate the survival rates of healthcare professionals at Curran Lutheran
Hospital, specifically midwives and nurses. The research will involve observation, desk-review,
and internet information, using a descriptive survey design and quantitative methodology. The
target group includes registered professionals in key departments. The researcher seeks ethical
clearance from Phebe-Esther Bacon College of Health Sciences, Zorzor District Health Team,
and Curran Lutheran Hospital before conducting the study. The investigator ensures
anonymization of data and informs workers of their participation options. Chatbots and AI-
driven virtual assistants improve healthcare efficiency and patient experience, but must adhere to
privacy and security regulations to maintain confidentiality and trust.

Introduction

patient care, administrative effectiveness, and symptom evaluation. They provide easy access to

Chatbots can provide personalized medical advice to patients, helping them understand
their medical issues, reminding them of appointments, medication, and lifestyle changes. They

The healthcare facilities in Zorzor District are not an exception to having such equipment
for enhancing the medical system. As such, the study will focus on the use of Chatbots and Al-
driven Virtual Assistant in healthcare facilities in Zorzor District
Research Question

Do the healthcare facilities have Chatbots and Al-driven Virtual Assistant in Zorzor
District?
Hypothesis

The existence of Chatbots and Al-driven Virtual Assistant in healthcare facilities in
Zorzor District will help reduce work pressure on health workers.
Research Setting
The study is being conducted in Zorzor District, Lofa County, Republic of Liberia.
Design
The study will be conducted at Curran Lutheran Hospital in Zorzor District, a private
hospital with a staff of around 100. The hospital offers a range of services, including outpatient
care, inpatient care, maternity care, surgery, laboratory work, and X-rays. The research will
involve observation, desk-review, and internet information, with a descriptive survey design and
a quantitative research methodology questionnaire. The study aims to investigate the survival
rates of healthcare professionals at Curran Lutheran Hospital, specifically midwives and nurses.
The target group includes all registered healthcare professionals at the institution, including those
in key departments like the specialty clinic, accident and emergency department, and obstetrics
and gynecology. The study will use stratified random sampling to select a sample size of 50%
responses, dividing the population into strata based on ranking or position.

Ethical Considerations
The researcher will ask for ethical clearance from Phebe-Esther Bacon College of Health
Sciences. The Zorzor District Health Team and Curran Lutheran Hospital will also approve the

get authorization after the communication's purpose has been outlined in a draft. The investigator
will ensure that any data they view or receive is anonymized and utilized solely for this purpose.
Additionally, they will inform the workers of their freedom to decline taking part in the study.

The time shown for the conduct of the research has no conflicting time with other
activities that I am engaged with.
