Introduction
A. State the overall
health question
you have been asked to address in your own words. Be sure you capture the key elements of the question, using language that a non-technical audience can understand.
The question chosen would explore if BMI can impact the follow-up status of patients who suffered from MI. MI or Myocardial Infraction or heart attack is caused by decreased or complete cessation of blood flow to a portion of the myocardium (Ojha & Dahmoon, 2023). One of the risk factors of heart disease is obesity. Obesity is measured in body mass index (BMI), which is a person’s weight (in kilograms) divided by the square of his or her height (in meters) (Akil & Ahmad, 2011). Finding out if BMI and MI can have an effect on each other would help in creating plans to decrease the risk factor of obesity. So what would be researched is that can BMI create an impact on whether or not an individual gets MI. If BMI is not one of the main factors for a certain patient, then other risk factors that can cause MI would be included such as gender-based symptoms.
