5 / 5 pts Question 18 Your Answer: Name and describe the three types of plate boundaries. In addition to a general description of each, be sure to discuss geologic features found at each boundary. Your answer should be at least one paragraph in length. The three types of plate boundaries are Divergent, Convergent and Transform. Divergent boundaries are where the new crust is generated as the plates pull away from each other. The crust buckles upwards and creates mountain ranges. Convergent boundaries are where the crust is destroyed as one plate dives under another, known as sub-suction. This creates large earthquakes and volcanoes along the upper plate. Transform boundaries is where the crust is neither produced nor destroyed as the plate slide horizontally past each other. This creates deep valleys and volcanic activity, and hot springs are normally found on these boundaries. Quiz Score: 47 out of 50
