Responsibilities
Judge
[To oversee legal matters and make decisions on the bench in the court.]
[Leads court proceedings and seeing that order is being maintained, the judge is also responsible of determining whether the evidence that is given from the parties is illegal or improper (Walker, M., & Lyublanovits, J. J, 2019.)]
Prosecutor
[ Any attorney, whether of agency or title, that investigates or prosecute any criminal cases.]
[An administrator of justice, advocate,
and an officer of the court. The prosecutor should help seek and protect the client, whether their guilty
or innocent. And respects the legal rights of all persons that they serve, prosecutors are problem solvers. That
are responsible for considering the goals of the justice system (Standards for the prosecution function, 2024.)]
Defense Counsel
[An attorney that is privately retained assigned by the court and serving as a
legal aid or for a public defender’s office.]
[Responsible for acting as an attorney on behalf of client that is being prosecuted for an alleged crime. They communicate and keep the client informed and provide any potential and outcome for the client. Defense counsel acts on the duty of confidentiality, that regard any information that is relevant to the client's representation (Standards for the defense function, 2024.)]
Allied Professionals
[Allied professionals are significant in the criminal justice system response in which it involves the victims. It includes medical personnel, mental health providers and child protective professionals]
[Allied professionals are responsible for helping advocates on behalf of the
victims, as well as provide any moral support for such victims. The allied professionals provide so many different duties within the court’s system. Medical personnel are the first to come into contact with a victim and document the victim’s condition. Mental health personnel help with treating a victim in regard to the trauma that the victim faced. Child protective professionals provide support in child abuse and neglect cases, where the advocate on a child’s
behalf to help provide a voice for the child victims (
