The Importance of Interactivity and Engagement
One of the most critical factors that a school or an online learning system should
consider when it comes to creating an engaging and effective learning environment is the
design. As a result, the more engaged the students are, the more likely they will take
advantage of the lessons. In most cases, students cannot focus on the multiple distractions
constantly bombarding them. The design of an online learning system should also consider
how it can help individual students develop their engagement and motivation. Doing so will
improve their retention and develop a deeper understanding of the lessons.
An engaging online course layout and a capable teaching staff and an engaging online
course layout can also aid in increasing the students' enthusiasm and engagement. A higher
retention rate and a higher completion rate may result from this.
There was also an emphasis
EDUC 730
placed on the fact that the design of online courses should include tasks and activities related
to the learning outcomes. However, this should not take place in a way that adds unnecessary
complexity to the process. Instead, it should provide a way to encourage students to
collaborate
and communicate with each other using both asynchronous and synchronous
methods.
The design of an online learning system should also consider how it can help
individual
students develop their engagement and motivation. Consequently, this will allow
them to improve their retention and develop a deeper understanding of the lessons. Even
though online education can be measured on a small scale, it is still important that the
institutional commitment to its quality is maintained (
Stone & Springer 2019)
.
According to a
theoretical premise, interactive books could be more innovative if they represent interactivity
as an integral part of the story experience, which can occur through various elements, such as
words, illustrations, and sounds (Kucirkova, 2017).
Advantages and Challenges of Using Educational Technology Tools
One of the most critical factors that a school or an online learning system should
consider when it comes to creating an engaging and effective learning environment is the
design. Specifically, building real-time interactivity is essential to ensure that the students are
engaged in the learning process. The concept of e-learning interactivity refers to the
interactions between students and the learning system. It involves the continuous commitment
of students to the learning process and the development of a level of cognitive engagement. If
implemented effectively, this interaction can help improve students' critical thinking and
encourage them to reflect on their learning. Instead of focusing on the content, an e-learning
EDUC 730
system should start with the learner's needs. In turn, this will allow it to provide a more
personalized and engaging learning experience (Kishabale 2019).
The rise of intelligent learning technology has led to the evolution of the traditional
learning methodology. Instead of focusing on the content, the focus of today's generation is on
the communication and learning process. Numerous open educational resources are available
on social media platforms. People started to understand the significance of these resources
after the COVID-19 pandemic (Kumar et al., 2021).
The improvement of students' learning experiences relies on technology in
education
(Mukai & Norman 2020).
We need to incorporate technology in our education to keep up
with the changes brought about by the digital age. However, it's also important to note that
effectively using this technology can improve the learning experience.
Despite the positive effects of interactive learning, modern instructors still need help
with the funding pressures that prevent them from fully implementing the practices of this
type of learning.
In addition to increasing class sizes, instructors face the challenge of dealing
with the budget constraints that prevent them from fully implementing the practices of this
type of learning. According to studies, the growth in class sizes can negatively affect the
preparation of students. However, it is believed that this issue can lead to a decline in the
likelihood of students completing their assigned reading material. The results of studies also
suggest that student's overall academic performance in larger classes is typically lower than
that of their counterparts in smaller classes. Hence, this is why instructors and researchers
must find new ways to improve the quality of education (Francescucci et al., 2021).

My Personal Experiences
The various advantages of online learning have been very beneficial to a
student's
career. For example, it allows them to pursue their education without commuting
long distances or moving to a different city. It also allows a person to keep their current job
while working toward a graduate degree or college degree.
Many graduate students cannot
afford to take time off from their job to pursue their education. With online education, they
can keep working while improving their skills and current position. It is a great way to earn a
degree without deciding between a job and school.
One of the main advantages of online
learning is that it allows people to work on their cognitive abilities when they are most
engaged. Therefore, this eliminates the requirement for them to attend crowded classrooms
and helps them focus on their studies. In addition, it can help boost the confidence of
introverts by allowing them to ask questions and share their ideas.
Three Application Tools
One of the most popular platforms for gamified student engagement is the quizizz
platform, which features various features that can make learning more engaging. For instance,
it can help teachers communicate with their students by giving them homework assignments
and conducting other activities. With the free version of the Quizizz platform, teachers can
access various features, such as library access, interactive lessons, engaging assessments, and
asynchronous assignments
.
Schools have to contact customer support for pricing and have
access to everything the teachers get and School-Level Sharing and Collaboration, Standards-
Aligned Reporting, LMS, Integrations that sync assignments and scores, School-Level User
Management and Priority Support and Training Materials. Districts have to contact customer
support and will have access to everything for schools plus, District-Level Sharing and
EDUC 730
Collaboration, Rostering Integrations that keep everyone in sync, District-Level User
Management and Reporting, Live Professional Development and Dedicated Success Manager.
With the help of Thinglink, teachers can create and manage multiple types of
interactive
videos and images. It's easy to use and has a user-friendly design that allows
instructors to collect feedback and track student performance. Over four million teachers and
students use the platform to create visual learning experiences available through the cloud.
Mass content management and interaction with visual media are two of the most effective
tools that instructors can use to improve the learning performance of their students. It comes
with a 30 free trial. The price for teachers per year is $60 (Teacher License). The most popular
pricing is a School License and $2 per year per seat with a minimum of 500 seats. The seats
are teachers and
students. Academic License is $9 a year with a minimum of 250 seats.
For teachers, ExpeditionsPro is a fantastic resource. Lesson plans can be developed,
created, and taught using resources. Furthermore, it is suitable for immersive history education
and virtual field trips. It is compatible with devices with the most precise hardware
requirements, such as Google Cardboard, smartphones, tablets, and PCs. You can see, create,
download, and access lesson plans whenever you want without an internet connection for
offline learning. I invite everyone to play Quiz 1

its engaging and fun.
Quizzing can help identify areas of knowledge that need more revision and help students
develop a more engaging and personalized learning experience. To reinvent the traditional
way of teaching, schools need to reinvigorate the culture of quizzes. With the help of
technology, they can create interactive experiences to encourage active participation.
Today's
interactive quizzes provide students with various opportunities to gain knowledge.

Unfortunately, they are not focused on prizes or getting famous. Instead, there designed to
help them develop a deeper understanding of their subjects.
Conclusion
The perception of participation in the learning process has a beneficial, mediating
effect on academic results. To effectively teach and learn, there must be interaction and
engagement. Regardless of the delivery, it is hypothesized that student engagement in learning
activities—both actual and perceived—will positively impact academic achievement. While it
is expected that student participation in group learning activities, whether synchronous or
asynchronous, will positively impact final grades, a blended learning ecosystem full of
collaborative learning opportunities will increase the perception of student perception
engagement. (
Northey et al., 2018).
The use of digital platforms can be used in the classroom
to boost participation and active learning among students. Digital teaching tools make it easier
for students to pay attention, become involved, and learn actively. For example, when a
student participates in educationally relevant activities directly linked to institutional attempts
to establish a productive learning environment, this is referred to as student engagement. It is
crucial because actively involved students usually achieve better academic results, have better
student experiences, and participate more frequently in class-related activities (Kardes, 2020).
