1)
I was running through the woods at a frantic pace.
I don’t know where my friends had gone.
We
scattered and ran when we heard all of the growling.
The pack of wolves were gaining on me.
I couldn’t
stay ahead of them any longer.
As I ran I felt the leader of the pack jump on my back and sink his teeth
into my neck.
Suddenly I awoke.
What a relief, it was all a dream, but it seemed too real.
I ran into the
bathroom to splash cold water on my face.
When I looked up I noticed two large bite marks on my neck.
For a moment it reminded me of what my mother used to to tell me, don’t go into the woods, my
mother used to say. The wolves will find you and google you up. There are a still a handful of packs these
days, incidents going on- pitful collections of worlves with bleary eyes and loose teeth. Sometimes, a
chicken or small dog would be missing, but there are rumors that all the wolves in the forest finished off a
plumb boy. No one kills wolves these days, we are not protected.
Why did i went my friends, why did I go to the forest, no matter how many warnings I was
reckless. I can’t process what has happened, those rumors were true? Curiosity really can kill.
I was not entirely awake, until now. If this is not a dream, how did I got here? how am I alive? I
started to panic, looking for other signs of attack. I examine myself further, I have scratches on my arm
and legs as well. It leads me to believe that I was attacked by wolves. I try to remember, and remember,
but no matter what there is nothing going on in my mind. How did the pack of wolves find me? I am full
of doubts and questions with no answers. What about my friends? I’m wondering if this only happened to
me, are they safe?
I have to seek medical attention, I can’t stay here and do nothing about it, but I am numb, I can’t move.
Do I report the incident? What if no one belives me, after all there is only rumors, there is no witness. A
large issue came to my hands without further notice.
Days passed and i thought things could get easier, I asked for someone to come and tread my wounds,
after that
I haven’t left home, and all I could think about was my mother story. It just pounds into my
head, she would tell my stories but none of them seemed true to me. Now I am here hopeless, alone, and
with two large bite marks on my neck. I can feel someone watching me, is it the wolves? I’m not going
back there, the woods.
Don’t go to the woods, my mom said. An advice I regret not taking.
