Writing Reaction and Review Stephanie Lugo University of Phoenix ENG/210 Jilynn Elliott January 10, 2023 According to The Browning Group (2021), " Perhaps you never needed or thought of contacting a private investigator before. You are not alone, well over 80% of individuals that call us have never engaged the services of an investigator before.” (Investigations para.1). Of all the agencies I researched and investigated for future employment, this was the only agency I could find that showed interest in making their potential clients feel at ease. The company was founded in 2009 by a retired Pennsylvania Sate Police officer. They have been in business for over 13 years now and specialize not only in private investigations but also security guard services and process servicing. Located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania they’ve built a team of not only retired officers, but active officers, sheriffs and members of the United States armed forces. While they seem to have a specific range of employees that are in the law enforcement field, and me not having law enforcement experience, I still believe that this could be a very good place of employment for someone like myself who has a passion for private investigation and seeking a degree in Criminal Justice. The amount of experience that their employees or as they say “team” has would be nothing but helpful and educational for me to help better me as a private investigator, or maybe even a future detective. That alone is a big reason why I would love to work for an agency as such. The Browning Group was the only agency I found as well that had a career option on their website, the requirements for the position, and an email to send a resume and cover letter to. Their requirements for employment were clear such as possessing a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years of age or minimum age required by the State, submitting and pass an extensive background check, references, employment verifications, ability to legally work in the U.S., reliable transportation and be able to pass a drug test with a negative result. Their website was informative and well put together with each of their services having different links providing information on each service, which shows me they take pride in what they do and want to help potential clients or employees obtain the information they need before applying or retaining their services. I look forward to reaching out to The Browning Group in the future for possible employment. Would it be the best place for me? I honestly won’t know until that day comes. What I’ve learned over the last couple of courses, people see what they want you to see, I base my opinions off what I personally experience. I look forward to learning more about the founder, the team, and potentially becoming a member of the team myself one day.
