Introduction The Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, located in the centre of Vancouver, has long been associated with grandeur, attracting Western travellers seeking an expensive retreat. Regardless, this influx of visitors has resulted in a slew of societal issues, ranging from natural debasement to an increase in early births, obesity rates, and crime. In the face of these challenges, this presentation explores the benefits and downsides of international tourism and sketches a critical rebranding activity to position Fairmont Pacific Rim as a driving eco-tourism aim within the global establishment. 2. Body: a. Global Tourism Advantages: Global tourism is a financial powerhouse, injecting urgency into neighbouring economies. Job development and increased corporate income are significant benefits, with the tourist industry functioning as a catalyst for foundation improvement. Social exchange between tourists and locals fosters shared understanding, creating a climate conducive to beneficial intercultural interactions. b. Disadvantages of Global Tourism: The reverse side reveals a more sinister story. Environmental corruption is becoming a major worry, especially when the beautiful scenery surrounding the Fairmont Pacific Rim bears witness to the effects of unrestrained tourism. Furthermore, the convergence of Western travellers has unintentionally contributed to an increase in societal difficulties, including an increase in high school pregnancies, greater prevalence of obesity among the local people, and an increase in wrongdoing, as offenders target the resort's affluent visitors.
c. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): A rebranding strategy centred on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is recommended to overcome these difficulties. SDG 14, focusing on Life Below Water, aligns with the need to protect marine biological systems surrounding the resort. SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production, becomes the foundation for implementing viable practices throughout Fairmont Pacific Rim. Furthermore, SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth, underlines the need of ensuring that tourism benefits the local community, paving the way for equitable financial growth. d. Rebranding as an Eco-Tourism Destination: A thorough approach is required to transition to an eco-tourism aim. Fairmont Pacific Rim can begin actions such as waste reduction, vitality preservation, and local biodiversity advancement. Collaborations with neighbourhood communities to foster social conservation and sustainable improves will be essential. Engaging tourists with educational programs on responsible tourism and ecological preservation may foster a sense of shared responsibility. Furthermore, Fairmont Pacific Rim may draw inspiration from successful eco-tourism models across the world, combining best practices that have proved beneficial in mitigating ecological consequences and promoting socioeconomic growth in neighbouring communities. 3. Conclusion Finally, the issues posed by the unintended consequences of global tourism at Fairmont Pacific Rim necessitate a balanced response. By maximizing tourism's benefits while mitigating its drawbacks, the transition to an eco- tourism target aligns with both the resort's and the global franchise's long-term strategy. This strategy adjustment not only solves the immediate challenges, but also establishes Fairmont Pacific Rim as a pioneer in capable and sustainable luxury travel. 4.
