W11 Reflection This week we learned about impact investing. We researched companies that invest in other companies that influence change around the world. The companies that do the investing help the receiver to extend their reach to more people. Muhammad Yunus's vision of poverty only existing in museums is a powerful and aspirational goal. While completely eradicating poverty may be a challenging task, significant progress can certainly be made to alleviate and reduce poverty on a global scale. Efforts in education, access to healthcare, microfinance, and sustainable economic development can contribute to lifting people out of poverty. It's about addressing the root causes of poverty and creating systems that empower individuals and communities. While achieving a poverty-free world may be an ambitious goal, the pursuit of it can lead to substantial improvements in the well-being of many.
