Module discussion define the following: A. Threat- This is something that can cause loss, damage or harm to an organization or individual. It can be internal or external, natural or man-made, intentional or unintentional B. Crisis- this refers to a dangerous situation or time whereby a solution is needed. It can be an event or period that can cause a dangerous situation to an organization, individual, or community. A crisis is unexpected, have high levels of uncertainty, and are threats to the goals of an organization. C. Contingency Theory-This theory explains that there is no best way to organize corporations. It explains that leaders should match their styles to a specific situation. Contingency theory is used to address unforeseen circumstances. D. Disaster- a natural catastrophe or accident leading to loss of lives. E. Financial Ruin -losing a lot of money F. Recovery-restoring organizations in response to disasters. 2. Threats are all around us. Have you ever considered the environment that you live in? What steps have you taken in your personal life to prepare for a crisis? I have considered the environment I live in. The environment could experience crises such as lack of water and electricity and violence. To prepare for a crisis, I have taken steps such as creating a plan to deal with the threats. I have purchased large water tanks to prepare for water shortages. I have also installed solar panels to prepare for power outages. I have installed CCTV cameras and noted contacts of security officers I should contact in case of violence.

3. According to Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, there are four basic needs. How prepared are you to lose one or more of those needs for 3 weeks? I am prepared to lose needs such as love and belonging. I am ready to give up friendships to focus on my goals. 4. We know that every action has a reaction and choices have consequences. After reading the articles provided, A. The shutdown of our educational system could cause poor performance among students and lack of educational opportunities among other students. It could also increase the learning gap and inequalities among students. B. How reliable do you feel our food supply system is? Can you get to food if the trucks stop? I think the food supply system is unreliable. If the trucks stop, I will not get to food. C. How dependent is your household on the electric power supply? My household is very dependent on electric power supply.
