Please tell the class about your background and reasons for taking this course and what you expect to gain from this class. Discuss the three primary concerns in macroeconomic analysis. I am currently serving on Active Duty in the United States Coast Guard. Right now, I am stationed in Alameda California but will be hopefully transferring back to the east coast this coming summer, either DC or VA Beach area. I have been in the Coast Guard for over 15 years now and my job deals with contracting and occasionally I deal with the finance side. My time in the CG has allowed me to see and travel to lots of different places that I wouldn't have seen had I just stayed in my hometown of Columbus Ohio. I have two awesome kiddos and we enjoy all sorts of things ranging from video games to CrossFit. I'm not particularly interested in CrossFit but it's a great activity for my kids and it's something we can do together that still allows me to lift the heavy stuff, it's a great way to keep the Ol heart healthy too. Outside of my kiddos my personal hobbies are strength training and various "nerd things". This is my second year at APU and I'm taking this class after finishing microeconomics last semester. I was planning on taking a different course to fulfil my prerequisites for my BA, but the economics thing just seemed very interesting to me, so here's to round two. My goal with this course is to have a better understanding of GDP and how our economy works in general compared to the various economies around the globe. What has made America so successful since its inception. Anyways that's pretty much it for me. Looking forward to learning and discussing macroeconomics with you all.
