2 Storage Devices and video cards are parts that a user needs to have research on when installing these components into their computer. Whether it be the choice of a Hard Disk Drive (HDD), a Solid-State Drive (SSD), or an optical disk drive, along with a decent video card, these components have their specific strengths and weaknesses when determining the use of the user’s computer. For my use, we will be continuing with last week’s submission of building my gaming computer. For this gaming computer I will be continuing to build, I’m looking to install a hard disk drive and a solid-state drive. For the hard drive I will need one that has at least 2 terabytes (tb) of space for tons of games to install. I also need it to both read and write at a very sufficient speed in order to process the data when I’d like to open an application or game. For the required hard drive, I will be installing the Seagate Barracuda 2tb HDD, model number: ST20000DMA08 (Seagate- Barracuda 2TB Internal SATA, see BestBuy in references) with a read and write speed of 7200 rates per minute (RPM) and a cache size of 256mb (megabytes). This HDD will offer plenty of space and speed that an avid gamer looks for, “ In any case, you should look to get an HDD with a speed of at least 7200RPM .” ( Brent hale 2021 ). Its average price is about $55 dollars from best buy. The solid-state drive of choice for my gaming computer needs to be fast enough and have enough space for my entire operating system (OS) of Windows 10 to operate on. This SSD is going to be the Samsung 860 EVO SSD, model number MZ-76E500B/AM and retails for $73.99 (see Newegg in references). This SSD has a capacity of 500 gigabytes (gb), a cache size of 512mb, and has a read/write speed of 520/mb per second. This SSD is the perfect fit to run our operating system at high response times. “The 860 EVO still delivers impressive random read performance at low queue depths” (Tom’shardware.com Chris Ramseyer 2019).
3 Now that we have chosen enough storage for the operating system and other applications on our HDD, we need to choose and install an optical disk drive to load our SSD with our operating system. This Optical disk drive is going to be the ASUS 24x Rewrite DVD Internal, DVD writer drive. When looking for an Optical Disk drive, you don’t really need it to be extremely fast or the best of the best, it just needs to be able to be used to transfer over our operating system, because this gaming computer will be running all its games digitally downloaded, so no games will be running on this optical drive. Its sole purpose is only to be used to download our operating system of Windows 10. This optical disk drive is re-writeable DVD drive and retails for $24.99 on BestBuy (see BestBuy in references). Finally, we will install our video card. When looking for a great video card to be able to run games at a great pace, a user must really do their research. The video card of choice to be installed in this computer is going to be the ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 3080. This video card will run all current and future games at immaculate settings and speeds. This video card is strictly aimed at high level gaming and video editing. The RTX 3080 has a video memory capacity of 10gb, an engine speed clock of 1740Mhz, and a memory speed of 19gb per second. This video card can provide a resolution of up to 8k gaming (7,680 by 4,320). This video card also comes with 5 input ports, 2 high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI), ports, and 3 Display ports. The RTX 3080 is the tip of the spear when looking for the best video card of the most current time in technology “ Asus has done an excellent job with the TUF Gaming RTX 3080 OC, it’s a great quality graphics card and better than Nvidia’s own Founders Edition in every measurable way” (Steven Walton Techspot 2020.) This graphics card retails for MSRP of $874.99 on newegg.com (see Newegg in references).

4 In conclusion, the additional components of an HDD with plenty of storage, an SSD with fast response time to work our OS, an optical disk drive to load the OS, and a high-end graphics card to process all our games, will make for the perfect fit to reach the needs of building a top tier gaming computer.
