Kparkay Alvin Togba CSIA 459 Week 7: Emerging Applications of AI & ML AI /ML A new generation of intelligent technologies - artificial intelligence and machine learning - is has the potential to change the way people and organizations interact with each other. Various industries, such as healthcare, transportation, and information technology, have already been disrupted by the rapid emergence and evolution of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Specifically, Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the development of systems that are capable of thinking in the same way that humans can. "AI" is a term that is made up of two words - "intellectual" and "artificial." This implies that the systems that are being developed are artificially made by humans. AI systems, on the other hand, rely on algorithms rather than being programmed to work together with their brains, rather than being programmed. Machine learning is made up of two types of algorithms: deep learning and reinforcement learning. The machine learning approach, on the other hand, allows computers to make decisions based on past data, without having to explicitly program them to do so. The performance of a machine learning model relies heavily on the data that it has access to, both semi- structured and structured, in order to be reliable. The learning process of a machine learning model is based on the analysis of past data. Machine learning is an approach to analyzing different types of data in a particular field by using mathematical algorithms. In the case of dog shots, for example, if a machine learning model is designed to detect dog shots, it can only perform well with images related to plants (Mondal et al., 2020). Among the applications that use machine learning are Google and the online recommender systems that appear on websites. Use of technologies in cyber defense
A growing number of organizations are emphasizing the importance of machine learning and artificial intelligence when it comes to protecting their data. A lot of data can be analyzed by these products, so they are capable of detecting threats like phishing and malware within minutes. In a number of fields, such as cybersecurity, AI can be used, and it has many advantages over other technologies (Chan et al., 2019). Cybercrime is an ever-evolving field, and organizations need to stay on top of it if they are to keep up with attackers and respond to threats in a timely manner. AI is one of the solutions that can keep up with the increasing number of devices on the market. Among the applications of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity are the detection of new threats, the prediction of breach risks, as well as the management of vulnerabilities. Adversaries' Use of Artificial Intelligence and how it can be prevented. In the future, cybersecurity experts will be able to use artificial intelligence (AI) to improve their defenses instead of monitoring for potential threats. However, cybercrime can also make use of similar AI systems in a malevolent manner for their own purposes. There is a possibility that an adversarial AI, such as one developed by Accenture, can mislead machine learning models, and cause them to behave in a way which is in the attacker's favor. Ransomware, phishing, and data poisoning are some of the common types of attacks that can be carried out using artificial intelligence (AI). As attacks become more sophisticated, it is becoming more difficult to combat them without automated solutions. The implementation of cybersecurity measures can play a significant role in preventing well- funded groups from conducting cyber-attacks against both large and small businesses alike. Moreover, these tools can also prepare people for the risk of data breaches, ransomware, and blackmail by assisting them in preparing for these risks (Harvey, & Gowda, 2022). With the use of both machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), a good web application firewall (WAF) can assist in preventing these types of attacks.
When it comes to cybersecurity, machine learning and artificial intelligence have the ability to quickly analyze and interpret vast amounts of data, which is very appealing when it comes to cybercrime. The use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in order to detect and prevent attacks could be considered even if an organization plans to implement a web application firewall in order to detect and prevent attacks.
