Part II Instructions: Please answer the following questions. 1. What type of motherboard did you select and why? I went with the ASUS Rog B550F, it has features that will support higher end gaming systems and allows for complete customization. 2. What type of CPU did you select? Is it compatible with your motherboard? How do you know? I selected the Ryzen 7 5800X it is the newest processor from AMD, while looking at motherboards the one I chose stated it supported AMD 5000 series processors. 3. What type of RAM did you select? How much RAM? Why? Is it compatible with your motherboard? How do you know? I selected Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 3600. While reading the description of the motherboard saw that this was the type of ram that was supported. If you go to motherboard websites it will provide a list of RAM that is supported. 4. What is the capacity of the magnetic hard drive you selected? 2TB 5. What is the capacity of the solid-state drive? How does the cost and capacity compare to the magnetic hard drive? I went with an M.2 SSD which is 4 times the price of the mechanical hard drive I selected for the same amount of storage space. 6. What type of expansion slots does your motherboard have? Do they match your graphics card and sound card?

The motherboard has 1 PCIE Express 4.0 slot that will be for the graphics card and a PCIE express 3.0 slot that would be for the sound card if needed. The onboard sound card is higher end so the slot can be saved for something else if needed. 7. Is there anything special about the mouse and keyboard you selected? What interfaces (ports) do they attach to? The Keyboard and mouse are of the gaming variety. The keyboard connects via USB 2.0 interface, it has RGB lights and is mechanical. The mouse is wireless and will connect via USB 2.0 or Bluetooth. 8. What is the wattage of the power supply you have chosen? Is it high enough to run your system? Any other special features? The Power supply is 750 Watts and is fully modular. That means I would only connect cables that are needed by the system. It saves space within the case for future expansion. The power supply I selected will run the entire system, if you google Computer wattage calculator it will tell you what you need to run the components you selected. 9. What is the total cost of your system? what could you change to reduce the price? 3,159 is the total cost of the system. I can change the video card to a previous model, change the processor to a Ryzen 5. A cheaper graphics card, less ram, and selecting just a basic monitor can drastically reduce the price. 10. If price wasn't a factor, what could you do to increase the performance of your system? If price were not a factor, I could upgrade the processor to a Ryzen 9, the graphics card would go to an RTX 3090, RAM would be moved to 64GB of about the same speed if not faster. The hard drives would remain the same as they are high quality. I would also add in all-in-one liquid cooling system to help keep the system running at peak performance.
