2 Explain at least two things that every professional PowerPoint presentation should include. There are several things that every professional PowerPoint presentation should include. One is using fonts, pictures, and words that appeal to the audience. Another thing is using a reduced amount of text by only summarizing the main points. Every professional presentation should not be the main message; instead, it should support the speaker. Highlight at least two things that every professional PowerPoint should avoid. Every professional presentation should avoid having more than 7 numbered items or bullets per slide. Using more than 7 words per line should also be avoided. Notably, overusing colors that may be distracting can take away from the presentation message and the intended impact and thus should be avoided in a professional presentation. Provide some insight on how the presentation should go. Summarize what you would need to remember about giving a professional presentation. Based on what I learned in this week’s lecture notes, there are several things that I should remember to implement in my presentation to the potential investors. One of them is remembering that I am the presentation and, therefore, only need to use it to support what I have to say. Another thing is ensuring that when I am developing my slides, I use words, fonts as well as pictures that the investors, who are my audience, will like. I should ensure my slides appeal to the audience and not what I like. Another thing is using words sparingly by focusing on the objectivity of my presentation to facilitate clarity by summarizing what I intend to talk about instead of including stories that may lead to the investors getting bored. Proof reading my work several times before the actual presentation is also something I should do. The presentation should constitute a simple layout that can retain the audience’s attention, like videos and pictures. I should develop the presentation within my objectives and discuss only the essential points in
3 summary. I should project my presentation behind myself while I stand to the side and not read off the slides. Additionally, I should not turn my back to the audience during the presentation. I need to remember to use a screen large enough for the whole audience to see, as well as make copies of the PowerPoint for my audience.
