It is also one of the most underutilized ways of gathering information and learning about job prospects. For this assignment, you will practice your relationship skills and build your personal network while capturing career insights. You should be asking questions to learn more about specific roles, companies, and industries that you are considering at this time in the B+MM program. | have included a sample cold invitation template to help with sending out email requests below. Assignment Instructions Part A Set up and participate in one informational interview with an industry professional of your choosing to make a more informed career choice. The informational interview should be 20-30 minutes in length. The informational interview can be conducted in person or virtually. Interviewing your classmates, faculty, staff, close friends, and immediate family members is not permitted for this assignment. You should be pushed outside your comfort zone and feel challenged while completing this assignment. It is highly recommended that you reach out to UBC or UBC Sauder alumni Part B Write a summary (double-spaced, 1-inch margins, size 12 font, and well-formatted) covering the following information below for your informational interview. Your total summary should be no more than 500 words (2 pages double-spaced). e Contact Details: Indicate the industry professional's name, job title, and employer. e Goals & Questions: [dentify some of the specific goals or questions that you asked during the informational interview. ¢ Insights, Next Steps, & Takeaways: What key insights, next steps, or key takeaways from your conversation? e Thank You Message Screenshot.
