Mrs. Principal embodied this standard in all that I observed today. From the cheerful greeting she gave every student as she opened the car door to the discipline issues she dealt with, she was a dedicated leader. She exemplified the motto "Love, Learn, and Dream." During awards day practice, she praised each student for their efforts throughout the year and expressed how proud she was of each of them. ( 3.2, 3.2) \. S he also told them that if their name was not called out this year for All A's or other recognitions, they could set the goal now to begin working toward achieving that for the following year, and that anything was possible ( 3.6). As an instructional leader you set the tone for the school. I want to set a positive tone and promote a positive climate. IEP mtg - 2.5 : "Lead with interpersonal and communication

IEP meetings are a perfect opportunity for instructional leaders to demonstrate this. Mrs. Principal presided over the meeting and ensured that all aspects were covered and that an appropriate plan was developed to satisfy the needs of the students. 2.4: "Safeguard and promote the values of democracy, individual freedom and responsibility, equity, social justice, community, and diversity." Mrs. Principal advocates for students with disabilities in her role as Instructional Leader. The instructional leader is responsible for understanding barriers and obstacles, such as physical and mental obstacles. Walk-Through • 4.1 : "Implement coherent systems of curriculum, instruction, and assessment that promote the mission, vision, and core values of the school, embody high expectations for student

Even though the walk-through was not ideal on this particular day, Mrs. Principal expected her teachers to remain engaged with the students and to continue to challenge them up until the end of the school year. As an instructional leader, establishing guidelines will be my responsibility. These standards should include adherence to the curriculum and faithful implementation of instruction. On occasion, teachers will attempt to get away with less, and I must be prepared to steer them back on track. 4.4 : "Ensure instructional practice that is intellectually challenging, authentic to student experiences, recognizes student strengths, and is differentiated and personalized." Mrs. Principal did not ignore teachers when they asked questions or needed to tell her something. During this walk- through, she reminded teachers that the upcoming year would be
