Compare differentiated instruction and universal design for learning. Teachers who provide differentiated instruction (DI) adjust various aspects of the educational process to meet students learning needs, whereas UDL is proactive measure implemented when responsive measure that is incorporated when planning and implementing instruction. - Both are educational frameworks in which teachers implement a variety of strategies and evidence-based practices to increase student engagement and to maximize students outcomes - UDL is a proactive measure which aims to prevent barriers to learning in anticipation of a variety of student needs - DI involves adjustments or adaptations made in response to students abilities, interests, and learning profiles 3. Explain each of the core principles of positive behavioral intervention and support (PBIS). Select one principles and provide an example. - Tier 1 (primarily prevention) is designed to prevent problem behaviors by teaching students the behavioral expectations for the school setting - Tier 2 (secondary prevention) provides targeted interventions for small groups of students who do not respond adequately to primary prevention
